good food and poor customer service... I arrived, checked in and was told my order was not ready. I patiently wait while other people come and go. I see an Uber Eats guy get two bags, place them on the sidewalk and rummage through them in detail to find out it's not his order. He puts everything back in the bags and tells the guy its the wrong order. They grab him two other bags, he repeated his food check process. He confirms order and leaves. I walk back up to the door and they go to give me the two bags that the uber eats driver not only went through but did so on the sidewalk. Anyways, I say I don't trust the food (even if it wasn't during covid) and they said they would give me a refund or remake the food. I said remake please and I set my stopwatch on my phone just for sh-ts and giggles. I proceeded to sit on the bench adjacent to door area. Less than 5 minutes later they told me the food was ready and I was on my way. I got to thinking...it took them 90 minutes on the original order and less than 5 minutes this time. I don't believe they cooked my food, I think they tied the bags back up and gave it to me again. I arrived home and discussed the situation with my wife. We both decided that we don't trust they remade the food. They did not give me high integrity vibes. I called and they said they will refund money when I bring food back. That's fine for some but not good enough for me. I wasted roughly 2 hours of my time, and have to order food from somewhere else. Scratch that, we had to return their mistake just to get our money back so we can afford to order food from somewhere else. He isn't giving me my time, energy, gas or anything back. Honestly, I just want people to know this story. I didn't and don't feel they cared at all about me (the customer) and they made me feel like I inconvenienced them. Now, I will lick my wounds, put on my big boy pants and carry on. ...
Read moreI've read so many great reviews of this place that I've been very eager to try it. When my daughter asked me where I wanted to go for my birthday, this was my first choice.
It's almost hidden in a strip of shops, just down from The Melting Pot in Coral Spgs. The place was nothing at all like I was expecting. I had no idea it was so tiny - 4 regular tables for 4 and two window tables.
As soon as we walked in, we were cheerily greeted. I had a moment of worry, since there was no one there. But I'd seen the reviews and I knew that so many Yelpers couldn't be wrong. The decor was simple, with a few pictures on the walls and one TV.
It didn't take long before we placed our orders. I went immediately for my favorite, butter chicken and garlic naan. I asked for water to drink. Shortly, the waiter came out with an 8 oz. styrofoam cup of water with no ice. I've never been a fan of styrofoam, as it's non-biodegradable, or lukewarm water, but I didn't say anything.
It wasn't long before the food came out. I was a bit surprised when it arrived in aluminum take-out containers and styrofoam bowls for the rice. But, this is where the four stars come in, the food was REALLY good, especially my chicken. I tried the other dishes that were served at our table. The only issue I had with any of it was that the tandoori chicken was a bit on the dry side. Other than that it was terrific. The bread was soooo good, that perfect combination of warm, slightly chewy and a bit toasted in flavor. I did drink through my water fairly quickly and asked for a refill. Instead of just bringing out a pitcher and pouring another cup, I was handed yet another styrofoam cup.
While I am an absolute fan of the food, I'd really like to see them make some upgrades in the way that...
Read moreThis has been my favorite Indian place to get food at for quite some time. I've tried other Indian restaurants in town as well as other states, but they don't really match up to the offering by Arun's Indian Kitchen.
The location is in a plaza with other restaurants and it's pretty simple looking for the 'Indian Kitchen' sign. Parking can be somewhat of a hassle, due to the one-way direction of the lot, and lack of availability right near the front.
The decor is pretty somewhat modern/no-frills. You order at the counter and find a table, there is limited seating inside, roughly 20 people can probably sit down, but there is also seating outside. There is a large menu with lots of options and prices and can first-timers may seem daunted by having to choose. Luckily, the person behind the register is perfectly able to make suggestions.
The food itself, in my opinion, is priced just right and is delicious. Curry typically comes with a portion of fragrant rice, but the garlic naan is where it's at. Samosas are also highly recommended, along with the two sauces they offer; I believe one is a relish/chutney and the other is a tamarind/sweet...
