I decided to give the new local Italian a go, wow did I ever make the right decision. From the moment I opened the front door, the staff (hostesses) were super nice and accommodating. Started at the bar (which i must say the marble/granite is absolutely gorgeous) for a quick cocktail. I went with the Il Capo Old Fashioned. I've had a lot of old fashion's where the restaurant thinks their spin on it was a wise choice, but never exceeded my expectations. This Il Capo certainly did, and i would highly recommend to any old fashioned enthusiast.
For dinner my wife and I shared the Chargrilled Octopus, which was absolutely stunning. I mean perfection Garnish, sauce, and of course the Octopus. Just WOW. We "shared" (My wife at it all) the Wagyu Meatball as well. I only got one bite because I was not allowed a second. Must of been the most tender and flavorful meatball i've had. wow!
For dinner I think i had the best porkchop i have ever had in my entire life. Not only was this cooked to complete perfection, the sauce was something I would come back for alone. It was a sweet yet had some heat to it. Everything we got was amazing which leads me to wanting to come back to try something new, but i don't think i could ever come back and not order this again. If you like a bit of heat, this is a MUST HAVE!
Wife got a spicy Rigatoni pasta dish. My expectations weren't too high because i'm not a huge pasta guy, but luckily my wife allowed me more than a few bites because i kept wanting more. The flavors were great and not too much heat.
Now, i'm not sure anything can top that Pork Chop, but when we got to Desert i was told we "had to try" the butter cake. I didn't have any room left, but a new restaurant thinking their butter cake is the best - it's worth a bite. Well, about 20 bites later i would have to agree that their butter cake is the best i have had. I havent' had to "loosen the belt" since my college days, but that cake was to delicious to not finish it. Almost got one to take home but then I got that look from my wife like "you need another butter cake as much as I need another pool boy" so I decided against it. By the way, i'm the pool boy also...
Highly recommend. The place was immaculate, friendly, well decorated, but we all know why we go to restaurants, and it's the food. I'll be returning multiple times, just going to have to fight with myself over ordering that pork chop or trying something new next time.
Eddie and Vinny - whoever you are - well done team, well done! 10/10 and a winner of the "loosen your belt I ate to...
Read moreExactly a year after Tavolino closed, Eddie & Vinny’s Coastal Italian has arrived, bringing a fresh, upscale energy to Coral Springs. Tavolino, sold in 2018, is now back in the original family’s hands under Eddie Pozzuoli Jr., who also runs Prezzo and Corvina. Chef David Garcia, who previously worked at Tavolino and Prezzo, leads the kitchen with a refined take on coastal Italian cuisine.
The space has been completely transformed with a polished marble bar, plush seating, soft lighting, and a small stage for live music. Unlike many South Florida spots, this is a restaurant for grown-ups—conversation takes priority over distractions, and there’s only one discreetly placed TV. While the awning and outdoor seating aren’t finished yet, service and execution are already exceptional, even in the soft opening phase.
We started with the Warm Goat Cheese Fritters Salad, crisp and well-balanced. The Short Rib Pappardelle was deeply satisfying, with tender braised short rib and a rich mushroom ragu. Cocktails were as polished as the food. The Vesuvio Glow, a blood orange margarita, was vibrant and balanced, while the Date Night Negroni, featuring Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s “Still” gin, put a smooth spin on the classic.
Seafood is a major focus, with Branzino alla Griglia, Lobster Fra Diavolo, Fresh Jumbo Lump Crab Ravioli, and Local Yellowtail Snapper Positano. The raw bar includes Colossal Crab Cocktail, Chilled Maine Lobster, Yellowfin Tuna Tartare, and fresh oysters. The Wagyu Meatball, a massive, softball-sized portion, is high on our list for next time.
The dessert menu features a Fresh Baked Gooey Butter Cake, Tiramisu Parfait, and Sorrento Lemon Meringue Tart. A warm chocolate “volcano” dessert is in development, and the beloved Tavolino almond cookies are set to return.
Prices are moderate to upscale. Reservations recommended. Proper attire suggested. Eddie & Vinny’s is already one of the most exciting new openings in Coral Springs—if this is how they perform now, the best is...
Read moreCame here for dinner on a Friday night with my wife to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. I read good reviews about this place and it did not disappoint. You have the option for valet or to self park in the narrow 1 way parking lot. We had an 8:45pm reservation and we arrived on time but they weren't quite ready for us so we sat at the bar and ordered some drinks. The bar was a fairly spacious area with comfortable stools and a view of the live music performers on stage. The venue was pretty full but we appreciated that the bar, although 95% occupied, was not overly crowded and perfectly suited to those who prefer to eat at the bar. The hostesses a mixed bag. The one who greated us was friendly, but the one who seated us was a bit cold. Our waiter was Mike and he was terrific. Mike was attentive, not intrusive, polite and opinionated when asked. Service was well timed (both drink and food orders). Drinks were a little pricey at $17 a piece but they were tasty. For food we started out with the complimentary parmesan crusted bread crackers which came with a spread and assorted marinated olives. We shared the giant meatball for appetizer which was served on polenta and smothered in their marinara sauce. This may have been our favorite food item of the night, but everything was absolutely delicious so it was hard to judge. For the main courses, my wife had the short rib barbadelli and I had the lasagna. We also shared a lobster, mac and cheese. Everything we ate was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we had their famous ooey gooey butter cake and let me tell you it was mind-blowing!!! Their prices seem a little on the high side at first but what made things better is that their serving sizes were generous so we had plenty to take home and enjoy again the next day. Eddie and Vinny's is definitely a must return spot and high on my recommendations list. From the live music to the good service and the fantastic food, it's a definite hotspot for good dining in...
