Where to start. We read the reviews about poor service but nothing you could belive until you experience it. Start with the food. Yes it was absolutely good. When it made it to the table.
We arrived at 4:30 as they opened and the first to sit down. Places an order of green tea. When that came out we ordered a seaweed salad and house salad with 4 rolls. House came out quickly. Had to ask for napkins because they don’t keep them on the table. One too comes out in 15 minutes. I asked for the seaweed salad and said that comes from the sushi bar. Interesting that was ordered first and a roll came out before. Finally at the 20 minute mark we get our seaweed salad. We place a hibachi order of 1/2 chicken and 1/2 shrimp to spilt. While still waiting for 3 other rolls. 5 more minutes go by and hibachi comes out. It’s literally just protein in a sauce. No egg. No onion. No rice. Just protein. Basically a protein appetizer. Finally 2 more rolls come out. I asked where the last roll was and they looked at me like I was crazy. Finally Juan the manager came over and tried explaining to me that things were backed up. I told him I don’t buy those issues when we were the first in the restaurant and placed our order pretty much right away. And then I said empty seaweed salad bowls are sitting here for 2 minutes. Explain how that’s the kitchens fault. Then I said we’ll take two more rolls and he would make them. He didn’t make them. He never did. The last roll of the first order finally came out and I told the floor lead, who has a nasty attitude and rolls her eyes at you like you did something wrong, that it was missing the sauce on the roll. She took 6 minutes to get sauce from the kitchen. He did bring them out. I asked him for spicy mayo. It’s the next day I’m writing this and still waiting for the spicy mayo. On the way out we saw them writing temporarily closed on paper at the host desk. This was Saturday night at 5:45. Not sure if they put the sign up but the needed to close down until they get more sushi chefs. While eating out last rolls another roll showed up. We told the girl we didn’t order it and she offered a two go box. Then the service lead lady brings it out and says because the issues you can have this box but usually we don’t give to go boxes away. Now if you don’t offer to go service why do you even have those boxes. Second why are you blaming service at all, you waitress offered it to us after she placed an extra roll in the table and knew you can’t bring that back to the kitchen to serve somewhere else. Again she’s rude wrong and clueless.
Final recap. Plenty of staff walking around but no clears the tables. You’ll digest your food before it comes. Waitress and kitchen can’t get order right. Juan tried to fix problem but he doesn’t pay attention. Service/waitress lead taller woman is useless and rude and can’t handle high paced environment Two male owners with Juan and neither of them will actually go and make sushi rolls to help keep the pace.
You decision to go, but personally I would wait months to see if they fix there...
Read moreUPDATE: Since our last visit, we’ve been here another 4 times. Service has improved TREMENDOUSLY and the manager is the best! He makes sure that everyone is taken care of and that we leave satisfied! This place has become our favorite place in Coral Springs!
ORIGINAL review: I have to say, if you love sushi and Japanese cuisine, you will love this place! Sushi was delicious, and my husband seemed to enjoy his miso soup, fried rice, spring rolls and fried noodles. Sushi is super tasty, nicely garnished, and made by order. Other food besides the rolls, is good as well, however the portions are good for a 3 years old. For an all you can eat restaurant, you have to wait a long time between orders, considering you can only order 2 rolls at a time, per person. I suggest ordering as much food you can as soon as you sit down so you don’t have to wait on service to return, because it takes A LONG time. If you don’t mind waiting, then you are golden! Service lacks a LOT! We had 3 servers serving us. Very sweet, but they all seemed to forget things, mixed the order, order more than we asked for, to a point where we were given extra rolls after we received our check. Because they forget stuff, or the kitchen is not fast enough, they fall behind and bring orders way too late. We went for lunch which is very reasonably priced at $16.99 all you can eat, but you won’t get all you can eat, because they are very slow. Even if you get to have only two rolls for that price, that’s still a steal. One thing I found way too overpriced was the beer. My husband had beer, and the beer was $10 per bottle. We were not informed of the price when ordering, assuming it should be $5-7 per bottle. $10, now that’s a little outrageous. We left right at 3 pm when their lunch time was closing, and with customers still eating inside, servers were all sitting at the exit station, on their phones, looking like they are about to fall asleep, without greeting anyone or saying goodbye. They reopen for dinner at 4:30, so I assume that’s their break time, but it still looks super unprofessional and sloppy. Maybe doing that in the break room and away from customers, would be a better look! In conclusion, I’d go back for the food, but in the meantime I hope they step up their service, they educate their servers on their rolls, teach them about consistency and productivity. It’s mostly younger kids, so I assume they are doing the best...
Read moreThis restaurant has really improved since the first time they opened as an a la carte type establishment . The new Buffett style restaurant was very impressive. Lots of options and the food was fresh and hot! The restaurant was very clean. My only complaints are : the sushi station was missing a lot of labels so it was hard to determine what kind of sushi it was, it was also not easy to decipher all the cooked sushi vs. raw sushi without asking one of the chefs. The sushi that I picked was delicious! The dessert station could use a little more improvement. I realize it’s hard to provide dessert in bulk but more options would be great. Also instead of the banana pudding dessert being in a big platter for self serving, it would be great if it was put in individual size little glass dishes. There are so many adults and little kids reaching for the jello dessert cubes and dropping jello pieces in the banana pudding. We waited for about 20-25 min to see if they would bring out a new banana pudding plate after asking one of the servers since the other one was a mess and almost gone but it never happened so we left. It was a Friday night so the restaurant was busy but we were seated right away and our waitress was very nice and attentive. We will definitely go back and try more items because this restaurant was better than some other Asian buffets that have been around for a while. Good addition to Coral Springs!
Update: We have eaten at Fujimura numerous times since my original post. I want to say thank to the owner for making changes to the dessert section and the sushi section. My only other recommendation is better organization with the sushi station. The sushi is always fresh and delicious but there is still no way to determine what sushi is cooked vs. the raw sushi. How about having one side with all the raw sushi and the other side an assortment of cooked sushi. Having labels on the sushi was definitely an appreciated upgrade. Hopefully one day the labels will detail what’s in the sushi (example, what kind of meat and veggies). All the advancements to this restaurant have been amazing and we will keep coming...
