S.E.A. Asian Bistro (formerly Kubo Asian Street Food), located at 1933 North University Dr. in Coral Springs, offers an inviting new take on Thai and sushi cuisine. Owners Arissa, her husband, and brother—former silent partners at Kubo—have retained much of the original staff, providing a familiar and welcoming atmosphere while introducing fresh dishes and an authentic Thai menu. Now managed entirely by a Thai team from Chiang Mai and the Isan region, S.E.A. emphasizes genuine Thai cuisine in Coral Springs, an area previously lacking in strong Thai offerings. Although some Kubo favorites are gone, new in-house specialties like Thai-style dumplings, Thai egg rolls, and an expanded selection of curries keep diners coming back. On a recent visit, the Tom Zabb soup stood out—similar to Tom Yum, intensely spicy with pork ribs, perfect for cold weather or when feeling under the weather. The Green Curry Beef (Gang Keow Warn), medium spicy without green peppers, balanced heat with creamy coconut milk. The Pad Kaprow with ground pork, also medium spicy, packed more punch due to its drier preparation. Don't miss the crispy mushroom salad, an excellent and shareable appetizer, or the vibrant and flavorful larb pork. Sushi enthusiasts will appreciate new highlights like the Green Devil Roll, featuring spicy tuna, jalapeño, hamachi, avocado, scallions, and spicy masago sauce. Staples like the Spider Man and Super Bonsai Rolls remain popular, though streamlined in flavor, with consistent pricing offering great value. The lunch menu is particularly attractive, featuring affordable bento boxes and sushi combinations, ideal for quick midday meals. Plus, keep an eye out for their upcoming happy hour with BOGO $15 drinks and discounted appetizers. Overall, S.E.A. Asian Bistro is a promising addition to Coral Springs, delivering authentic Thai dishes and sushi with ongoing refinements and great value. It's well worth repeated visits.

I went with my friend for a late lunch (@3pm). We were both greeted by the staff outside before we even walked in the restaurant. Very pleasant staff. The hostess, waitress, and bar tender were all very friendly and attentive. We started by ordering cocktails. We both got the "Red Kiss" which is a yuzu based drink. It was a specialty cocktail so it was $15. The drink tasted amazing. Pleasant yuzu flavor, but for $15 we both agreed it could have been a bit bigger. Next we split two appetizers. The "Thai Pork Dumplings" and "Pork Belly Adobo Bao Buns". Both were delicious. We both agreed the Bao Buns were better between the two. The actual Bao itself was like a soft, fluffy, pillow. The pieces of pineapple they topped the buns with was perfectly ripe, so sweet and juicy. For entrees we chose the "Kao Soi Ramen" and "Panang Curry (with chicken)". I had the ramen. I loved the actual broth, pickled mustard greens (not made in house), and soy egg. My only criticism is that it came topped with "crunchy noodles" which I felt were unnecessary (I picked most of them off) and when I inquired about the spice level - I like to ask if they do "Asian levels" of spicy or "American levels" - I was told they lean towards Asian so I ordered mine "hot". It was not hot. I would call it mild at best. The waitress even asked me if I was sure and I told her I was and had eaten Thai food before. So, I was disappointed there. My friend enjoyed her Panang Curry. Overall, it was a good experience. Between the two of us the bill came to $86 so they are a bit pricey. We both agreed we would go back but we decided it would be after 4pm (when happy hour kicks in) and that we would order mostly appetizers and the bao buns. I do want to try the sushi as the people sitting behind us ordered a roll and it looked incredible.

We came here on a recommendation and it fell nothing short of amazing. We are now going to be recommending this place to others. Not to mention I dirtied my shirt as I was enjoying everything, lol. That’s how you know it’s good. Everything was so detailed from the art work to entrance cherry blossom tree to the comic book style menus. We had the spicy edamame and orange pork rib appetizers. Both were incredible. No restaurant gives you as much edamame as Kubo and it’s really spicy. It’s super good. The ribs had a nice crunch on the outside while being tender on the inside. Very delicious. We also had the pancit glass noodle dish which was both delicious and humongous. I ended up taking most of it home. It is absolutely delicious and I like that the chicken is ground. You constantly get protein in your bite. We added shrimp to the pancit dish too and there were so many shrimp. We got the kubo ramen based on recommendation from the waitress. It is in a thick panang curry broth. Absolutely delicious. I actually like it better than your average soup broth ramen. Our waitress Nicole was an absolute sweetheart. She was very relatable and answered any questions. I am requesting here next time I come, if she is there. She even recommended the most delicious drinks and dishes. Very happy with the service here and we can’t wait to be back. Worth double the stars and this most definitely has become one of our favorites.

I came when they first opened and I cut them slack the first and second visit maybe Ben the 3rd. However now there’s no excuse they’re no longer newly opened. My friends and I went to dinner and my order was the first one taken. The waitress repeated my order to me and it was correct. Time went on and a majority of the dishes were out already I reminded them on 2 occasions that my food was still not out. More time went on and the 3rd time the server said she may not have heard me and that she repeated the order to us. Yes you repeated the order and still forgot it. Like everytime we go there’s an issue with our tables food. The one in Ft. Lauderdale never gave us any issues. I was so excited when we found out they were opening one literally right infront of my apartment but the service is terrible. Update: I now rate this please a 1 star. They food is great but when I pay a good about of money for the food I want the service to match. I ordered for pickup I asked for a Kubo fried rice and an order of the combination fried rice with no onion or scallions. The girl that took the order was very nice and she repeated the order so I thought it was correct. I gave them the allotted time to go and pick it up. I got there and the food wasn’t ready I waited for 15-20 minutes more. So at this point it was like well over 45 minutes. The girl told me “I’m sorry the kitchen is slow right now” mind you they literally only had 3 or 4 tables of people. The place was almost deserted. There was no reason why it should have taken that long for a take out order. I finally get my order and drove home. I got home and the combination fried rice had onions and scallions in it. I called and asked for them to remake it. Luckily I live right infront of the restaurant so I walked back and got the new order (which was correct) this time they made it in less than 5 minutes. So this time around it took them less time then when I ordered it over the phone and gave them time to make it. I’m so livid with this location everytime I want to give them another chance they mess it up. Again the food is amazing but the service is absolutely garbage. I’d rather go to the Ft. Lauderdale location and get better service there. I spent $45 with tip on just 2 orders of rice. I wasn’t going to tip at all but I was like fine. They’re tip amounts were also outrageous. Save your time and money and do not go to this place they’re guaranteed to either have you wait forever for your food or mess up the order, or forget your...
