Honestly, I wanted to love this place. Walk in, there is no where to stand in line waiting to order, you walk in the door and that's the line. So it got crowded very quickly. It was hot and humid inside. I don't know if the a/c wasn't working, but I feel bad for the 2 young people working there. The group in front of me had 4 drinks, 2 of them were missing add ons, that you pay for. I order, get my drink and realized there was no boba. Walked back in, waited 5 more minutes, finally got a tiny bit of boba thrown carelessly in my cup and handed back my cup with sticky boba syrup on it. I know these aren't huge deal breakers but QUALITY CONTROL, does take away from the customer experience when it's lacking. It's the employee’s job to read the order and make sure that the drink is handed out, as asked and paid for. I didn't even get an apology. No one greets you, you don't feel welcome, it feels very transactional and like the people working there don't care.
My drink was phenomenal though, best boba spot in Corona, this was the last boba spot I hadn't gotten to yet, since moving here a few months ago, just because it's further out than the others. If you only care about the drink, assuming you get what you asked for, I would recommend it. If poor quality control and poor customer service bother you, I wouldn't suggest going.
Sadly, for me, this first impression, doesn't make me want to go back. I'll go to a boba place where the staff is friendly 5/5 and the drinks are a 4/5, but at least their employees care enough to not make drinks wrong, back to back.
The prices here were also higher, than every boba shop I've been to. Came out to $10. Not worth the...
Read moreWe ordered a Thai Milk Tea with boba and cream. The drink itself was good, definitely one of the higher quality boba places in Corona! However, I could not believe how much it cost. For that one drink, we walked out of the door paying $10.17 for a single drink.
My first thought was maybe it was just inflation, and maybe all boba shops recently raised their prices. So I compared this shop with some of the highest rated shops in Irvine that I could find on Google. Noting that Irvine has a significantly higher cost of living compared to Corona.
"7 Leaves Cafe" (4.5 stars, 607 reviews) base price for a Thai Tea (no addons) is $5.94. "OROBAE" (4.6 stars, 429 reviews) base price for their premium milk teas (no addons) is $5.10. "Rapha Tea" in Corona (4.6 stars, 77 reviews) base price for a large Thai Tea (no addons) is $5.80. Addons are $0.55 each
"Mr. Chi Boba" base price for a large Thai Tea is $7.00, and addons are $1.50 each. A Thai Tea with boba and cream is $10.00! The same drink at Rapha tea in Corona is $6.95. "Mr. Chi Boba" is ~144% the cost of its closest competitor of similar quality.
I say this because I enjoyed the tea and boba here, and I want to come back in the future once prices are lowered. So I'm hoping that by breaking down the numbers, the owners will reconsider their prices. I also don't want to give this place a low star rating, because I want local businesses to succeed....
Read moreAmazing Boba and Excellent Service! This is hands down my favorite boba shop! The drinks are always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly customizable. Whether you like your tea sweet or less sweet, with chewy tapioca pearls or other toppings, they nail it every time. The staff is incredibly friendly and efficient, even when the shop is busy. You can tell they take pride in what they do. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to hang out or grab a quick treat. I highly recommend trying their signature brown sugar milk tea or any of the fruit teas -- they're a game changer! If you're a boba lover, this place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be...
