Cassidy's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

My only 5 star Irish Pub review still stands with Trinity Hall in Dallas. They're genuinely Irish, and will not be taken down by anyone. So my loyalty remains.

With that said, Cassidy's would be on my top 15 for Irish Pubs! About 3.5 stars. It's a great little spot to grab a whiskey or beer, maybe listen to some music, and have some good conversation with friends. The environment is set up well, a little more "bar" than "pub," but who's noting differences, right?! It does have the dim lighting and a couple different nook areas to hang out in. Not bad.

The drinks are poured well, and the service is good... most of the time. I've been a couple times with crappy service, but hey, it's a bar. And you get what you pay for.

As far as the live music, it'd be a great acoustic spot. But they choose to bring in live bands that make it incredibly difficult to hear any conversation, and the music typically echoes off of the walls. It's really not a good spot for live music, and wouldn't take much to beat. But, there are no other places close by, so they win at that.

I'd say, if you're in town and nearby, stop in. But definitely not a destination point if...

We were in Cassidy’s Tuesday night, we made friends with one of the bartenders there who was there on her day off. She was awesome, her and her boyfriend gave of us a list of places to check out. Everything was going great until some man at the bar kept harassing her even followed her into the restroom at one point. When she tried to tell the bartender who was also the bar manager, that she was uncomfortable with this guy and to ask him to leave. The bar manager Kristina told her, “oh he’s like that with everyone.” Like it was no big deal. I used to be in this industry and yes you do get a lot of drunk men that hit on you. If you are there on your day off having a drink at your own workplace just to be violated and the bar manager just laughs it off? That is not okay. We love Cassidy’s, but we will definitely not be coming back with someone who runs the bar like that. Big plus for being opened and had live music. Had the standard pub whiskeys, but was out of some of JJ&S stuff and couldn't restock immediately. Cocktails were masterfully crafted, legit bartender took their time. One suggestion is to have cocktails in gender neutral glasses especially for a pub: the cocktail Orange Harp came out in the industry "cocktail glass" but I wasn't going to drink it in something so curvy...regardless if in an Irish pub or not. Is this because of the size of cocktail? Maybe tumbler, zombie, or Collins? Atmosphere was relaxed and folks were having a good time.
