12•28•24 1st time here reason because of the bragging on Google. Honestly, it was the worst for me. And the service was bad let me tell you my waitress was not the problem the problem was the food/cook and the person who charged me. She didn't care, and her facial expression I was baffled by her service as to taking care of business has no experience at all. So this what happened went over because of hype. Just to order, the presentation was fair, but there was a huge red flag. As soon as you dig in, you find what you didn't order. Ordered the omelet they said it was good so the menu states Mushrooms, bellpepper, onions, sausage, bacon & cheese well to my surprise all meat inside was chared and burnt including the veggies and the mushrooms were missing in this omlet. It was a horrible tasting omlet. So i told the waitress that normally, in most restaurants, they take your plate and redo it. Well, it's a rude awakening. No, they didn't not here! instead waitress she asked what was the matter and I clearly showed her the issue all chared and no mushrooms so she goes to the cook instead of remaking she asked for a sausage patty and bacon and mushrooms cooked. Only to bring to me to replace inside so-called thin layer omlet 🤯 I was like, what?? By this point, I was upset and lost appetite. No I don't recomend this place at all breakfast the simplest thing was a total disaster here are my pictures to prove to you plus for what we paid 30.00 was NOT WORTH THE PRICE, TASTE NOR THE DISH ITSELF HARD CORE PASS! Hubby ordered the 2 scrambled 2 sausage links, Burnt!, on opposite side of patties and the 2 waffles, so yeah, burnt was not on the menu. If you're the cook by all means, have common sense if it is for you. I'm dead serious. You be upset and wouldn't eat it. So I told the lady (CASHIER) my problem with her facial expressions and showed her the pics says, " we've never had any complaints and shrugged her shoulders like oh well" I'm like, well damn this is your 1st. Lady, and if it's like this,I'm calling you out on it. And a no sorry was said nothing or a discount because I didn't even eat my food in the end. Because the items replaced still came back chared and burnt! Here are pics for y'all so you be the judge if you never had an issue ok good for you, but if there is something wrong address it and good luck I didn't want to pay 30.00 for burnt un eaten food but I paid and never again...
Read moreFrida's is located downtown on Starr Street near the House of Rock. It's a new restaurant, so there are issues that need to be addressed as they become more popular and have more time in business. Issue #1: They need more bussers. I've been there twice; once in the evening (a Friday at around 8pm), and again on a Saturday morning around 11 am. On Friday, they were very busy, but they had about four empty tables that needed to be cleaned off. We had to wait about three minutes, standing by the door, for someone to clean off a table. For such a small location, standing by the door is very awkward and unnecessary. The same issue arose on Saturday. Empty, dirty tables and an awkward wait by the door until we could be seated. Issue #2: The waitstaff is slow. They are very friendly, but wow are they slooooooooooow. They are tasked with a lot, I get that (I've spent years in the food and hospitality industry). Checking on your guest once every twenty minutes (again, it's a very small dining area) is unnecessary. Issue #3: It's cramped. I said it's small, but it's also very cramped. There's just enough room between tables for the the waitstaff to get around. Having a (kinda) private conversation is not possible at all, even with a quiet voice. That being said, the food is great! I had chicken enchiladas and my guest had the Chicken/Beef fajita plate. We were both very pleased with the overall quality. (Pictures are attached) The breakfast was pretty good. I had the migas plate (a la Mexicana) and my guest had the breakfast platter. (Pictures are attached) Overall, I give this place 4 stars, mainly for the quality of the food. The service could use some attention, especially in the area of...
Read moreI’ve visited twice. 1st time was dinner, my initial thought was the food was okay. Obviously catered to the not so Mexican crowd here in Texas. It reminded me of eating at a Mexican Restaurant in California. 2nd time was breakfast, the atmosphere is great, and the parking is bad. I ran into the restaurant to place an order to go. Paid 30mins for parking at the meter, anticipating that it wouldn’t take long. A group of 6 people sitting at a large table and I noticed that a couple of plates were being served at a time. These folks eat and the table was being bussed before I saw my order (over 30 mins) in a bag. After returning home, my side of bacon was missing. Now, being honest I had ordered 3 plates but I never expected it to take that long. I’m guessing that the restaurant is new and still trying to figure out what needs to be done. My overall experience is a 3 star. I will still recommend eating here and I do plan to return. My hope is that they’ll improve and become more successful so that we here in downtown Corpus Christi can have a good place to eat...
