Oh My Dress — Local services in Corpus Christi

The dresses are great but the front staff is awful. The lady who helped me pick a wedding dress and the lady who took my measurements for alterations are great but the young women who work in the front are very rude. I went in for my final fitting and they put ugly clear buttons on my dress that were highly visible and told me that I would have to pay for the hooks to be put on instead because it was another alteration even though that was what I initially paid for- the fitting lady and alterations lady came out and comforted me right away and let me know that that was indeed what I had paid for and the alterations woman had written on my ticket. Im not sure why it was not done that way the first time but even on the phone the younger woman working there is very rude. Also very expensive here. My dress initially was 700 but now I've paid over 200$ initially for alterations during the first purchase of the dress (understandable) and then was told by the young woman at the front that it would cost another 100$ more upon my second fitting for the back to have two hooks (a bustle) to be put on (mind you during the final fitting where I was supposed to take my dress home it was done in a very ugly manner with big clear buttons and handled poorly by the front staff) and I agreed anyway for it to just be done wrong. I am hoping that upon me picking it up it is everything I initially hoped (I know it sounds like a lot but this is my wedding dress) -hesitantly posting and crossing my fingers for tomorrow. I just hope it works out and I dont end up in tears. UPDATE: Upon looking at other reviews it seems as though I have not received the same treatment as other brides. Truly...

Snooty behavior + overpriced low quality dresses = 1 star (since 0 isn't an option)

At the beginning of the fitting they ask you what your budget is and they give you a range. Sales lady was not very kind right after I said my budget was on the lower end of their range and then when I showed interest in a higher priced gown she told me it was out of my budget and wouldnt allow me to even look at it.

I didn't appreciate her snobby behavior but also didn't find it worth my energy to cause a scene so we continued to look at dresses in her fake nice kind of way.

After only trying on 2 dresses, the same lady said that I couldn't try on anymore after that because she had another appointment. She may have really had another appointment but I had a feeling that she was lying.

Regardless, I scheduled my appointment way in advance and should have had plenty of time to try on more instead of getting cut off in the middle of my wedding dress shopping experience. I had to schedule my family members to come with me and to only have them see me try on 2 dresses was really disappointing.

In the future, I recommend letting people decide on what they can or cannot afford without your opinion. I also would recommend being less snobby towards potential customers. Thank you for encouraging me to take my money elsewhere.
