Restaurant Review: The Exchange Bar - Corpus Christi, TX
âââââ
If youâre searching for a culinary gem in Corpus Christi, look no further than The Exchange Bar. My husband and I stumbled upon this delightful establishment for a last-minute anniversary dinner, and it has left an indelible mark on our taste buds and hearts.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for what would become a memorable evening. We were greeted by Alex, the bar manager, whose expertise and passion for food and drink were evident. She took the time to share her extensive knowledge and ensured we felt right at home.
Now, letâs talk about the foodâspecifically, the Cubano sandwich. Iâve dined at thousands of restaurants worldwide, but I can confidently say that this was the best sandwich I have ever had! The first bite was an explosion of flavor that left me utterly mind-blown. I was so enamored that I ordered a second sandwich immediately after finishing the firstâsomething Iâve never done before! The perfect balance of savory ingredients, coupled with the chefâs masterful touch, made for an unforgettable experience.
Speaking of the chef Kyle, we had the pleasure of meeting the talented individual behind this culinary masterpiece. We were incredibly grateful for the opportunity to express our appreciation in person. Itâs rare to encounter such dedication and passion in the kitchen, and it truly made our experience special. Kyle so far the best chef ever!!!
In short, The Exchange Bar isnât just a restaurant; itâs a destination for food lovers. Whether youâre a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and indulge in their menu. You wonât just enjoy a meal; youâll experience a celebration of flavors that will linger long after you leave. We canât wait to return and savor more of their incredible offerings!
Highly recommendâcome taste the magic...

Drank it. Bartender dude was very unsocial..never asked if we would like to see a menu, never really said anything.. we asked if they were even serving food, he said yes and found a menu.. I decided to try a local beer, ordered a Lazy Beach Blonde...took a sip, tasted like it was brewed with sewer run off..told the bartender it was undrinkable, he said, "I could've told you that, costs twice as much and tastes like it was aged in a bucket full of dead kittens"...I said, but you didn't. He removed it from the tab, poured me another beer and we carried on. We decide to order the jerk shrimp tacos, they arrive in a timely fashion..we eat them, they taste like bleach, or some kind of cleaning chemical, masked with barbecue sauce...like, the bleach/chemical taste is still in my mouth as I write this review...I'm back at home, drinking beers, trying to get it out, but it has burned itself into my pallet and I'm afraid I might just have to outlive it..
Short version..boo, thumbs down, not a good place to get drinks, or a...
Read moreI'm really confused. Usually, after a beer festival, you'd figure you'd have the munchies and scarf anything in sight. Uhm yeah. No, bro. Not here.
Between 5 of us, of all the things we ordered, everything was pretty much left on the plate and reluctantly took it home.
We had the chicken wrap, bacon avocado grilled cheese, Cajun grilled shrimp taco and the loaded fries. The fries were the "best" of all three. The fries were warm at best and looked like they werent really fried but frozen fries that were microwaved. For the avocado bacon grilled cheese, I neither tasted the avocado nor the bacon - it was like biting into mayo sandwich filled with a slice of Krafft singles. The Cajun grilled shrimp taco - idk wth that was but it was definitely not Cajun; they served a slightly crispy flour tortillas filled with shrimp not deveined), black beans and pico(?). The chicken wrap was just terrible, almost old and dry. We all took a bite to confirm and after each bite, looked at each other that yeah, this was pretty bad (but it looks pretty!). All the flavors were off on everything. Not sure who was in the kitchen that night.
While their beer selection on paper was decent, the reality was they carried 4 of 5 beers we ordered that Saturday...
