Establishment is wonderful but the upkeep inside is lacking. I believe first impressions are everything! First thing i see as i walk in are well worn chairs for guest to sit while they waited for their table to get ready. These are the same chairs that are used at the dining table and some has seen better days. Worn and peeling plastic with the cushion peeking through. Hostess was amazing. Waitress was great but would maybe suggest not placing a water carafe on the table and expecting patrons to pour their own water. This is a "fine" dining "upscale" eatery after all.
Food:
Great wine and drink selections.
Guamcamole- a standard affair. delicious but nothing special.
Tequila Prawn- another delicious dish. PrawnS were cooked perfectly. was served in a bowl with quite a bit of liquid. served with 2 tortillas on the side to make tacos. can get a bit messy which you dont want liquid dripping onto the plate which can get onto your clothing while eating. wished the wait staff would have gone the extra mile and brought 3 tortillas cause there was 3 people having dinner and we was sharing appitizers.
Filet Mignon-cooked perfectly rare for me. served with a huge portion (when taking off to the side, it covered 1/3 of the dinner plate) of greens (neither person who ordered it didn't like it). mashed potatoes was flavorful
Flautas- my friend ordered and she stated that it was yummy
Key Lime Pie- perfect amount of tart and sweetness
Overall we had a pleasant experience. Best food I have had in Corvallis by far! I just believe that first impressions are everything and with going that extra mile, the night would have...
Read moreIf I was rating the service exclusively it would get 5 stars. Our waitress was lovely and extremely kind and accommodating!
The food, on the other hand was the worst I’ve had in a while, though. I feel like I entered the twilight zone with all of these other glowing reviews, like I couldn’t have been at the same restaurant!!
I ordered the Pozole. This is a dish I make at home and have loved at every other restaurant I’ve been to. This Pozole was awful. Genuinely awful. It tasted remarkably like Campbells Beef Potroast stew, but also burnt and like they spilled liquid smoke in the pot.
Our incredibly lovely waitress offered to bring me a sample of their daily soup- which was some kind of spicy tomato and pepper bisque. I gave it a try… and it was easily the worst soup I have ever had. It genuinely tasted like watered down ketchup and mesquite barbecue sauce that someone had added New Mexico Chili Powder to.
My fiancé ordered the Yucatán BBQ pork, which was incredibly dry. It had the texture of a poorly cooked pot roast, like stringy meat that sucked all of the moisture from your mouth. The flavor was… okay at best?
My Dad and his girlfriend were similarly unimpressed with their dishes. Some of their potatoes were only half cooked, and the flavor was meh. Really just… edible. If the food we were served was offered at a quarter of the price, I still...
Read moreAfter spending so many months unable to dine out because of the Pandemic, my husband and I were finally able to enjoy an amazing meal at del Alma! After reading that the restaurant was slowly welcoming diners back while paying strict attention to the current safety protocol; limited seating, masks and cleaning, we made reservations. Upon arrival, we were met with such a warm and friendly greeting. Adi seated us in a room with greatly reduced seating, only 4 tables, ample space between diners. Adi proceeded to give us suggestions and answered questions about the menu. We began with their complimentary bread served with 3 different delicious spreads.. The cocktails were absolutely perfect! We paired them with a melt -in -your- mouth beef tenderloin, as well as tequila prawns, both elegantly prepared with such an aray of fresh ingredients. My husband chose, for his main course, a slow cooked Lamb in Mole Coloradito, prepared strawberry salsa, as well as other fresh ingredients. I enjoyed Prawns in Crema, lusciously prepared with dungeness crab, potato taquito's, cherry tomato pico de gallo and other fresh ingredients, topped with a cream sauce. We completed our meal by sharing a slice of rich flourless chocolate cake, so elegantly presented with fresh whipped cream and berry sauce. We're so happy that we chose to dine at del Alma and look forward...
