Bodhi Cafe / Bakery — Restaurant in Corvallis

My mother and I went for breakfast on 10/18/24. We ordered two sandwiches and two drinks, it was busy usual. We have gone multiple times in the past with no issues but this time was just absolutely horrible. We ate half of our sandwiches and were going to take the remaining half home but when I picked up my mom’s sandwich to put it in foil and CATERPILLAR came crawling out of the sandwich. It was just absolutely horrible. I rushed to the counter and handed over the sandwich with the CATERPILLAR, and they gave me a refund. My mom recently had knee surgery and was unable to get up without my assistance while I went to the counter and she had vomited in her mouth because she did not want to vomit everywhere in front of everyone and cause a seen. I helped her out the door and asked for a bag for her to vomit in. Needless to say we are horrified of this cafe now. We are unsure of what methods they use to clean their greens for the salads or if they even do at all. It was a terrible experience it is just disappointing to talk about as well because we loved the food. FOOD ALLERGIES BEWARE: Like another reviewer mentioned, they messed up my order and put regular MAYO on my nearly normal instead of vegan sour cream. I had to take it back after receiving it through Uber and the chef denied that it was mayo and reluctantly remade it. I had all my coworkers taste it to make sure too! It was definitely mayo. They also gave me a gluten free cookie when I ordered a vegan cookie. Since that was my first time ordering it, I didn't know that what I got was the wrong cookie so I ate it and got so SICK afterwards. Their food quality has gotten worse, barely any flavor. I tried emailing the manager about my issues and never got a response. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but they lack customer service so much that it's not worth it anymore for me. I could go on about how bad this place is but I'll stop it here. The business is owned by a yuppy rich guy using dad's money and has no personal investment in the company to make it any better (what I've been told by employees when asking for his email). Food allergies beware: My wife and I used to really like coming here for breakfast, but sadly, we won’t be returning. We ordered the nearly normal bowl as my wife is extremely lactose intolerant, and when given to us, it had regular sour cream on it. They apologized for giving us that and stated they would remake it. The version they “remade” was the exact same dish where they just scooped the sour cream off the top and “dug out the middle”, but you could still see the sour cream on the side of the cherry tomatoes. After being told that that doesn’t work to avoid severe food sensitivities (which any food service location shouldn’t need to be told), they reluctantly said they’d remake it. The “remade” version was the exact same plate with the non-dairy sour cream on the side and the same regular sour cream on the same cherry tomatoes on the side. This location clearly needs a lesson in food allergies and how to not kill customers. If this is hard to understand with dairy, imagine if this was an issue with peanuts instead. Would it be okay to just scoop the peanuts off the top of the dish and re-serve it to someone with a severe...
