We have never been to this location. But on St Patty's Day we saw the menu posted on Facebook and decided McMenamins would be a great place to celebrate St Patty's Day. Let me say first the staff is fantastic. It seems like the staff was light they didn't have very many servers. So we just took that into consideration because they were definitely working very hard. Two downfalls and I count them as major because maybe there could been some better preparation. There was a tent set up outside but absolutely no space heaters on inside not even present. It was freezing in the tent there were a lot of people with heavy coats on even small children out there. I was totally turned off that they didn't put space heaters in there and they had tables outside underneath the eaves on the sidewalk... No space heater turned on there either. It was a cold night so I think it was a pretty brutal treatment for their customers. We waited patiently really because we understood the situation but when we sat down all the specials that we came for were gone so was disappointing The menu is pretty much just bar food It wasn't anything spectacular This is my third attempt to dine at any McMenamins been to the one in bend a couple times and was disappointed I guess that's it for me just wasn't meant to be I guess that' just wasn't meant to be. I just don't get all the hype...

I recently criticized McMenamins (on Monroe, specifically) for a true decline: smaller portions, higher prices, limited staff, etc. As I noted, you can trade in whimsy and Northwest good times, but you can’t sustain a brand on blah meals that cost more.
Hadn’t been to this location in years. It is nowhere near downtown or the campus. It has limited parking. It was a local bar in the 1960s (“Tower of London”) that the company bought and rebranded (with a decidedly German-leaning mishmash of street signs). Now, I have been here on two occasions in the last week.
What it has is very simple: better portions for the prices; attentive staff; and a more ‘chill’ atmosphere than the Monroe Ave. venue (complete with a nice fireplace).
I still think the price point is a bit too high. But the portions and the staff make up for it at this location. The company should study it. Really. Study it. If you want to retain customers, this location serves as a great way to start bringing back and keeping loyal fans, no less luring in new customers.
Recommended.
[And, Charlie, reconsider your review, based on the location, the obvious decor. I think you want this place to be something it was never meant to be (even when it wasn't McMenamins). You can't fault a poodle for not being a real dog,...
Read moreWorst experience I've ever had at any establishment in Corvallis. Alex ( the manager) failed to recognize our presence as customers and failed to even say hello to acknowledge our presence after he asked us rudely where we were sitting. We stood in the entryway for ten minutes not knowing what was going on. Anyone who eats at restaurants know that the correct way to recognize customers is hello or we'll be right with you. The waitress, Jennifer, was extremely defensive and said she would corroborate with whatever Alex's story was without being present. She was not helpful in any way, the only bright spot was the bus boy who was polite enough to add our names to a waiting list. Not the host. Not the bartender. Not the manager. And not the waitress. I will be writing Brian Mcmenamin personally about this terrible experience. Alex deserves to be reprimanded for this and his staff. The lack of professionalism at this establishment was horrendous. I understand it's busy, but this was unacceptable by any standards. Simply greeting your customer with hello makes all...
