Kinetic Bagel Institute — Restaurant in Corvallis

So, I'm going with 5 stars because the bagel is the star of the show. These are consistently delicious and are a superior product. All that goodness aside for a min, my lovely wife and I strolled in today late morning for a couple of breakfast style bagels. I ordered the smart Alec on a jalapeño bagel and she ordered the albacore tuna on a salt bagel. We even watched our bagel chef grab the wrong bagel, and before he prepared it, said. "hey, i ordered a jalapeño!" He said. "yea you did" but never corrected his error. I probably wouldn't have reviewed today, except that my wife got the lox and cream cheese instead of the albacore tuna. I decided to give 3/5 starts for Kinetic Bagel today because of a couple things throughout my experience. One star was removed because of the FDA restrictions or lack thereof. I placed my order- a couple bagels and one with pesto spread. It was typed into their iPad POS system and then promptly started preparing the order, hands first into the bagels after touching a screen that is statistically more dirty than a toilet seat. I noticed paper was used sometimes to pick up other orders, just not being enforced strongly which I hope will be a quick fix. I also would prefer the option to toast a bagel if so desired. As a young kid growing up in Brooklyn New York (over 70 years ago) I recall local bagel shops in every neighborhood… Five cents a bagel! They were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside… Just like you will find at kinetic bagels! Although The price has gone up a bit, the size and authentic quality are still there when you have one of these excellent treats at this somewhat out of the way establishment near the highway 34 bridge crossing the river. If you haven’t made your way here, you are missing one of the GREAT food experiences that Corvallis has to offer in these troubled times.
