My wife had a 3-item combination plate, with Sweet & Sour Pork, Orange Chicken, Deep Fried Shrimp, fried rice and Egg Flower Soup; and a glass of tea. She said the Egg Flower Soup was great, but the sauce for the Sweet & Sour Pork had an odd taste and her glass of tea smelled kind of fishy. I got a 3-item combination plate, with General Tsao Chicken, Orange Chicken, Deep Fried Shrimp, Hot & Sour Soup and pan-fried noodles; and a TsingTao beer. I had never had a TsingTao beer before; and it was not over-powering and had a light mild taste that went well with the meal. The General Tsao Chicken, Orange Chicken and Deep Fried Shrimp were all fairly tasty, but the pan-fried noodles were limp and tasted oily, like they might have been cooked in a pan with too low of heat. The Hot & Sour Soup was really good, though. What we noticed when we first walked into the restaurant, other than we were the only customers in the restaurant, was an odd smell; which was possibly some type of cleaner, to comply with health and safety requirements for restaurants due to the unprecedented times we are in; and I would have given this a 3.5 star rating instead of a 4, but opted for 4 instead of 3 because of the location of the restaurant and the fact that many people considering eating here would appreciate that they have large portions and modest prices (see the pictures of the menu and specials). Plus, maybe this was not a good time of the day to go there. Maybe when they have other customers it would be better. It was mid to late afternoon when we were there. However, there were no other customers at this restaurant the entire time while...
Read moreDifferent. I’ll start out with that. We ordered pork fried rice, fried shrimp, beef and broccoli, cashew chicken and sweet and sour chicken. Shrimp, too much batter, lacking shrimp flavor, bland. Pork fried rice, soggy, tons of great looking ingredients, had a hint of what I suspect was fish sauce which IMO does not belong in chinese food. Seemed steamed verses fried. Beef and broccoli, great tender beef, crisp tender broccoli, onions…but again, the hint of fish sauce and a bland, unusual flavor. I Cashew chicken, wonderfully fresh ingredients, chicken was tender, veggies cooked perfectly, but very bland with little to no sauce to hold it together. Sweet and sour chicken batter a little too much, chicken a little too little. Not nearly as fresh as the rest. Overall, food was generally bland without a lot of flavor, but at the same time almost everything was cooked to perfection and seemed very fresh. Even the soy sauce (Lee Kum Lee brand) appeared watered down and had little flavor. In my wife and I’s opinion, they need to do some serious work on flavors and seasoning, but they use good quality, fresh ingredients and cook them well for the most part. Get rid of the fish sauce! If you are super health conscious and are willing to sacrifice flavor for lots of freshly cooked meat and veggies, this might be for you. We like richer sauces and flavors to go along with those great...
Read moreThe staff was super friendly. The dining area was roomy and clean. The food was tasty and arrived quickly. We had soups, which were delicious, egg flower and hot and sour. We also tried the tidbits appetizer plate, which was a nice sampling. Two nice size vegetable egg rolls, 4 fried shrimp, 4 ragoon, and some warm bbq pork. I personally prefer my Chinese Bbq Pork cold, but that is a preference thing. It had a good flavor. My meal was a lunch combo. Shrimp Lo Mein, Orange Chicken and Egg Fried Rice. My husband had Egg Fried Rice, General Tso's Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork. All these dishes were enjoyable. Sorry I didn't get pictures of that yummy soup and tidbits platter. We were hungry and they went quick, lol. Again, I would like to point out the service...
