If you have ever watched the Pixar movie, Ratatouille, then you will remember the scene where the food critic eats the Ratatouille and enjoys it so much he has a flashback to his childhood and his mother's cooking. This is the experience I had when I tried the Chef's Favorite at this restaurant except my mom never made soup close this good and the cook is not harboring a sentient rat in his hat. Coming here is a experience similar to a pilgrimage and as rewarding as summiting Mount Everest (perhaps even more so). Each soup on the menu is a different experience. A symphony of soup! The owner of the restaurant is known around Corvallis for his remarkable intellect and cultured nature. The knowlege that has been imparted upon me during my visits has helped me succeed beyond my wildest dreams. It is my sincere belief that there is only one man in the world capable of making soup this delicious, and I thank my good fortune of being one of the few in this world who have partook in the experience that is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIncredible eatery! It might be easy to overlook the small footprint, but Tian Fu Noodle has a very welcoming staff and generous, delicious fare. We enjoyed the dumplings, the Dan Dan noodles, and the titular Tian Fu noodles. The dumplings were hearty, numerous (over a dozen!), and had a rich and toasty chili sauce to complement them.
The noodle dishes didn't disappoint either. The Dan Dan noodles were homemade and fantastic, with a generous helping of scallions, pork, sauce, and spices that didn't take away from the noodles being the star of the dish. The Tian Fu noodles live up to the name of the shop, as the broth is spicy but rich, and filled with pork, onions, and chunks of perfectly-crisp cooked cabbage to accompany the glass noodles.
For anyone looking for a filling, affordable, and authenticly delicious experience, be sure to make...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJay, the owner knows how much this restaurant means to me as a grad student at OSU. The soups were my soul food whenever I had a rough week, didn't feel well, and just needed comfort in a bowl. The flavors are authentic with incredible depth. People of many diverse nationalities come here, and you could tell the food resonates with them in some familiar way. The way each bowl was constructed was meant to be balanced flavor-wise, but also health-wise. Jay has always made connections with his customers and likes getting to know your favorite order. He is one of the kindest, wisest, and interesting people you'll ever meet, and the food that him and his wife make each day is something very special. They truly deserve the title of Yelp's 9th of top 100 chinese resturants in the US! I will miss this place dearly. I highly, highly...
