This is my second review of Domestic. I decided to give it another try and I am glad I did. This time they had every beer on the menu available. Like I stated last time I guess I went on an off night. I chose to try something different from the chicken because I already know the whole chicken is AMAZING. I had the Steak with the peppercorn sauce (Please excuse me for not using the right french term) We also tried the burger. We order the Mac N Cheese agian and the corn bread because last time there were the items that fell extremely short.
Not short anymore. There was cheese stretch in the mack N cheese and the corn bread was moist and sweet. Thank you for correcting this from last time.
The steak was a perfect medium rare and the sauce was to die for. So flavorful that I think this is my new style for steak. I guess I need to learn the correct term now.
Okay sorry now the negative side. Service still needs working on. Dont get me wrong, everyone is extremely kind and attentive. However the salads were served...a couple minutes later I received only the steak. No sides just steak. A few minutes later are cheese burger was served. Then about 5 minutes later we received are side dishes for are meals.
One huge compliment I do want to give is the chef was not happy with the Mac N Cheese and we were told another batch was being made fresh and yes it was worth the wait. The final thing to arrive was the corn bread.
So really the only complaint would be we did not get are food together. My personal opinion is not that bad but I know some people prefer receiving...
Read moreHaving been introduced to many different kinds of barbecue, I consider myself picky. Domestic though, is one of the few that ranks high on my list. lordered their 2 meat + 1 side dish combo for $25. I opted for the ribs and brisket with the bacon mac n' cheese. The ribs were good, flavorful and fall off the bone tender, a little on the dry side but I enjoyed them nonetheless. The brisket was juicy, I prefer some bark on them though. I had high hopes for the bacon mac n' cheese because it was said to be their most popular selection. I've definitely had better where I said to myself "to hell with low carb diet." This was ok, 3 pieces of pasta and I am done. Dining solo gives me the opportunity to Take as many pictures and eat as slow or as fast as I want without the eye-roll and beatboxing. I didn't overstay though as the dinner crowd came trickling in. Parking was busy on a Friday evening what with the farmer's market across the street. It was good to have found...
Read moreIn violation of the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act which strictly prohibits hidden fees added to restaurant bills. Sneaking in a mandatory line for tipping kitchen staff, on top of 18%+ tip expected for waitresses is excessive. It’s also awkward asking for it to be taken off. If you truly mean optional, don’t force it onto customers and allow us to opt in, rather than having to ask the waitress to remove it and opt out. Hence, why the state made it against the law to pressure customers into paying such fees. Pay your kitchen staff a fair living wage when customers are paying more than fair prices for the food we eat. It’s not our responsibility to tip everyone in the building. If choosing to provide kitchen staff with tips, pool the tips and do so accordingly, do not sneak in hidden charges. Not cool and very...
