It's a small place at the tail end of all the Covina businesses...Citrus Ave is like an old school small town main street. Omg...this place makes awesome next-level ice cream, even vegan and gluten free ice creams, but its the alcohol- infused flavors ...delish to the nth...i read other reviews and settled on pistachio and also thats my moms old timey favorite but wahhh they didn't have pistachio on this day, alas...so I taste tested the seasonal fall flavors....one was spiced pear cake ...the other pumpkin... they both had that spiced nutmeggy goodness with that extra sumptin sumptin, Hard apple cider and spiced rum, respectively)...but in the end..I bought a pint of Butterbeer made with butterscotch and English toffee. It was such a hot day so the servers gave me a generous bag of nice...to transport the ice cream home. Half hour later, only a little soft....it didn't melt into soup. YAYYY. This is THE BEST butterscotch ice cream with crunchy toffee bits in every bite...it was amazeballs. My mom said it was " Mmmmmm, heaven." Highly recommend this flavor also the Ahoy Scoops with its strong creamy Columbian coffee taste, with every other bite a large candied praline and its infused with bourbon...wow, so goood.. heaven for coffee lovers. This place, heaven for ice cream connoisseurs...who like a little sumptin sumptin in their ice cream...also they have a small bar and suggested pairings of adult beverages AND ice cream. Brilliant!! What a fun idea!!...

It is obvious from the crowds inside and outside this shop that Scoops on Tap is a popular Ice Cream eatery that is quickly gaining momentum with locals.

Scoops is located on a popular strip with many other restaurants and across the street from a lively Farmer's Market.

Parking is a bit tough and you cannot park behind Scoops. Park on the street or in the free public parking lot a couple of blocks away on Italia Street behind Giovanni's Italian Restaurant.

Kudos to the staff here for keeping the large customer base well organized. The wide variety of flavors made making a decision tough, however free samples were available.

Besides our single scoop (Spiced Pear Cake) that was mouthwatering, we purchased a Brown Butter Blonde with Whole Milk Milkshake and (1) pint of Pumpkin Creme Brulee and (1) pint of Madagascar Vanillla Bean.

We waited outside until our order was ready and a staff member quikly brought it out to us. The Spiced Pear Cake was superb and had a luscious texture with a slight pistachio-like flavor which must have been the spice. I should have purchased a pint!

The milkshake was no doubt a calorie bomb but worth every spoonful of indulgence. You could taste the freshness in every taste. The best part was the portions that did not fit in the straw and remained at the bottom of the cup. So tasty!

Remember to try to tip the staff. They are a a hardworking...

Scoops on Tap has some of the best ice cream I’ve had in a while. They have a pretty inclusive menu with regular, boozy, vegan and keto ice cream options as well as a good selection of beverages (soda, floats, milkshakes, wine, beer, etc). They offer beer and wine floats - which is a super creative idea I haven’t seen before! We were able to sample a bunch of different flavors before selecting our wine and ice cream flavors for our flight.

There was a limited edition pinot grigio with floral, citrus, and nectarine notes and a strawberry guava wine which we added to our flight. The employees lined up our wine and ice creams so they would pair up best. The flavors we got from left to right were: Wine: rosƩ, pinot grigio, pineapple papaya, strawberry guava Ice cream: vanilla bean, vincent man-go, strawberries & cream, passion for guava

The two fruity wines from San Antonio were lower ABV and really sweet. The best ice creams we got were the vincent man-go and the passion for guava. The vincent man-go tasted like thai mango sticky rice, and the passion for guava was slightly sweet and super refreshing. Big shout out to the employees that let us sample all the flavors and pair our ice creams with our wine selections.

There’s also a nicely sized patio which would be super nice in the summer. Parking is also available along the...

Very nice staff, as first time customers they explained their labeling system and a little about their ice-cream. They have water based (like sorbets), non-dairy (coconut and oatmilk), and traditional cream based. A couple of the dairy ones do have alcohol, I believe we were told less than 1.1%. Sampled a few before making the tough decision. We went for the ube coconut and coffee cookie butter. I do have to say everything I sampled was delicious and I feel like I definitely need to come back and try not just different flavors, but also one of their milkshakes. I also saw they have wine and beer if you'd like to have a drink. Seems like a nice place to come alone for a scoop, with friends, or on a date. Street parking seems to be the only option, but we didn't have too much trouble finding a spot on a Sunday afternoon. They also have some outdoor seating options. Also, just make sure not to stop by on a Monday, they are closed.
