A Quick Guide to Eating, Drinking, and Having Fun in Cincinnati

A Quick Guide to Eating, Drinking, and Having Fun in Cincinnati

I think this restaurant is warm and inviting, it is small and cozy? I like that they have a dining area for sitting on the floor with pillows and seating in chairs. There's not a lot of seating but a decent amount on both sides of the restaurant. There's street parking available and sometimes limited. I love the soups and stir fry, especially on cold days. I recommend trying something in every category because their food is high quality. I felt that everything was made well, seasoned well, and delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with any choice. The banchan (side dishes) are also delicious and pairs well with everything. I recommend trying everything at least once or twice. Staff is very nice and very kind here. They're very accommodating and they really take care of their customers. We had a great experience and everything was delicious and well made. I would recommend if you want to try authentic Korean food and a cozy and warm experience. I would recommend for small groups and a casual date or hangout! If you have a bigger party, I would recommend calling ahead for a reservation.

Food Presentation: A+ Taste: B- Service: B- (slow for a Tuesday night) I dined here with a friend for dinner, and as a big fan of Korean food—especially Bulgogi and Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab—I was excited to try this place. I've visited various Korean restaurants in different cities, and they are usually packed with flavor. Unfortunately, I found the food here to be too bland for my taste. That said, the presentation was top-notch. The dishes were beautifully plated, making it feel like a fine dining experience. Everything, including the side dishes, looked fresh and well-prepared. However, the service was slower than expected, especially considering it was a Tuesday night with only a few other diners. Our meal took over two hours, and we didn’t even get dessert. The pricing also felt steep for the quality. I’ve had the same entrées at an Asian restaurant in Newport for half the price—and with much better flavor. It seemed like I was paying more for the presentation than the taste. Others might enjoy the food more than I did, but personally, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Ordered carryout on a weekend night, and I generally had a solid experience. Parking was easy, since they have carryout only spots on the street. I very much appreciated that.

Interior is tastefully modern and quite appealing. It was bright, welcoming, and impressive in the lobby/bar. The bar looked like a very appealing space to grab an appetizer and cocktail. I'll probably return for that exact purpose. I didn't delve too far in, but it seems like they also maintain a lovely, tastefully decorated, quiet dining room.

I ordered the chicken stir fry, and the other member of my party had the chicken bibimbap. Thankfully the woman on the phone was able to deftly confirm my butchering of the Korean name for the stir fry. So don't worry about the imposing menu item names, they'll get you what you want.

The food was quite enjoyable. My dish was ample, suitably spicy, and tasty. I was particularly fond of the veggie blend. The squash was especially satisfying. The bibimbap also got solid reviews. It's worth noting that the chicken was a step up from average carryout fare. It was trimmed and cooked well. The veggies on the side were fun to sample and generally quite appealing. The slaw (cabbage/apple, I think) was the highlight, but they all came together nicely, and were just broadly a pleasure. The black beans felt undercooked to my taste, but I'm thinking there's a good chance that's just the style.

My primary complaint is that at this price point, I'd expect a bigger portion of rice. I basically received a single dollop from a rice cooker paddle. Maybe 20% of what you get with a standard Indian order. Maybe that's the standard for Korean restaurants, but it was insufficient for me. I ended up cooking extra rice to finish my meal.

If I'm an idiot, and minimal rice is just the standard, I'll gladly amend my review. I have no comparison among Korean restaurants since many don't have stir fry, so I'm totally open to the fact that I might...

My husband and I had the seafood hot pot for two, and it was incredible. Though, I will say that the amount of food they give you could feed more like 4 people! My husband and I barely ate half, and we were stuffing ourselves.

I also want to mention that the service was INCREDIBLE. This is one of those restaurants that leaves a carafe of water at your table, which I like. They also had our food out in 10 minutes. Very great waitstaff, very friendly and personable.

The food here is reasonably priced for the amount that you get and the quality. I see some people complaining about the prices, but this is a nicer sit down restaurant. You can eat for about 15 dollars a person. If you go for the more expensive options, maybe closer to 20.

The side dishes that come with the meal were also great. One of them was Kimchi, and it was my first time eating it. The first bite was a bit unpleasant, but then after my second bite it was addicting.

The crab salad was also interesting. It had very thin slices of apple in it to add just a bit of sweetness, which was delicious.

Overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants I've visited. Unfortunately, I live in Dayton so I...

I hate writing this, but I cannot help but say it. The food was absolutely amazing. It really was. I'd love to go back, but the service was awful. And I am not saying that lightly. We got one napkin each. I made eye contact with our server as I was gesturing that I would like more water. I waited 15 solid minutes until I had to go to the front and ask for more water. I was given one more glass, that was it. Nobody checked on us. Which is weird, because everyone around us got great service. I am very polite and know for a fact that there was nothing we did to upset anyone. I am so disappointed in the service that I can't let this go unsaid. I would be singing this place's praises all day long if we were just treated better. As in- the way everyone else around us was treated. To be clear, nobody was outright rude, but inattentive is putting it lightly. I felt like we were annoying them with our presence.

The food really was amazing. I cannot discount that. But I'd rather have just ok food with even just good service than great food with poor service. And there are plenty of other places around this that actually have great food AND...
