Do NOT shop here!!!!! My fiancée and I went to every furniture store in our area looking for a new sectional couch last week. Due to the dimensions of our living room, we needed a specific sized couch and found something that would be perfect for our space at ValuCity.
The sectional we wanted had 3 pieces to it. We were told that the 3 person sofa part of the couch and an armless chair would get here August 21 and then the corner chair wouldn’t get here until October. After we found out that one part of the couch wouldn’t get here for a few months we almost didn’t go through with ordering the sectional but decided that since it was just one piece everything would be okay. We were promised 2 pieces of the couch would for sure come by August 21.
The day before delivery, we get a call that only the 3 person sofa was going to be delivered. We asked why, when we were previously told that 2 of the 3 parts would be here August 21.) The lady on the phone wasn’t very nice and just said “well the other pieces just didn’t come so you’ll have to wait until September 19th? “ (No idea where that date came from??) We called the store back and spoke with Nick who said that the managers were aware of the situation and either they’d call us back or he would to see what’s going on. He called us back a little while later and said that the armless chair is at the store (west Mifflin store) but couldn’t get shipped out with the 3 person sofa piece because it “didn’t fit on the truck” and they wouldn’t send it out earlier bc they had to wait for our last piece to come in to ship them out together. We asked if it could be picked up and Nick said we could go there and pick it up if we didn’t want to wait but never mentioned remediating this issue by giving us some money back for the delivery fee or anything. We’d pick it up if we hadn’t already paid over $200 for delivery?!!!!
I will be reporting this business to the BBB. This is completely unethical. Nobody tried to fix any of these issues by offering us money back for our problems or anything. We spent 3k all together for the couch and at this point we’re not even excited for it anymore. We shouldn’t have to wait another whole month for HALF of our couch to get here. We also already sold our other couch otherwise we’d just cancel the order.
Stay far, far away from this place. Scammy business.
EDITED TO ADD: I have my receipt that shows 2 of the 3 items are getting delivered today, August 21. This company failed to deliver my merchandise according to the written terms on my receipt, constituting a breach of contract and a violation of consumer protection standards. This conduct may also constitute an unfair or deceptive trade practice under Pennsylvania law, since the business misrepresented delivery dates and refused to deliver merchandise that was already available, despite charging a $209.99 delivery fee.
My receipt is specific, it doesn’t just say “estimated delivery,” it actually lists the armless chair as arriving August 21 along with the three person sofa. The item is already in their store, this isn’t a backorder or supply chain delay. It’s there and ready, but they’re holding it back for their own logistical convenience. I paid a $209.99 delivery fee, I have every right to expect that delivery would be done in the manner promised, not “bundled later because it’s easier for the company.”

Read moreWe ordered about $5000 in furniture here back in February. We encountered an insane number of issues with our order. (1) The dining set was promised on a date, when that date came we were told it was on backorder for another 90 days. They offered to deliver "only the chairs." (2) We received our billing statement and were overcharged for several items. It took following up multiple times over a month to have this resolved. (3) Our bedroom set was delivered with a broken piece. We had to submit a claim for someone to come out to see it. They scheduled that for over a month later. When the day came, no one came. I called, and we were told it was never scheduled, and we'd have to wait a few more weeks for someone to come. (4) When the person came, they said it couldn't be repaired and would need to be replaced. They scheduled that for another few weeks later. (5) As the date approached, we had a couch that said it arrived and needed to be picked up. This is apparently a quirk in their delivery system, but when reached out I was told they were holding the couch to deliver at the same time as the replaced bedroom piece. (6) When the delivery date came, they only delivered the replacement piece. No couch. (7) I reached out about the couch, and it took over 24 hrs before anyone could even find what warehouse it was at, and then another week before it was finally delivered. Throughout this horrible process, representatives from VCF again and again gave us the same line: "We want to make this right for you, and we'll definitely help you out by making this right, but I don't want to give you any discount or anything back until after everything arrives and you're satisfied, in case something else goes wrong and what we offer isn't enough." Well, surprise. It's been over a month since all of our furniture is finally here, and no one has reached out, no one has asked how everything is, no one has called to see if everything is good or we are happy, and no one has done anything to "make it right". We have five more rooms of our house to buy furniture for, and, since we have the line of credit with VCF, we thought maybe if they actually took care of us, we'd still use them for the rest of the house. At this point, we've given them multiple chances and over a month to make good on their promise, so we'll just be cutting up our VCF Credit card and moving on...
Read moreI was looking to get a Mayfair bedroom set to replace what was in my main bedroom. Initially, the floor sales team was really nice and helpful. But after the sale was confirmed, it was all downhill from there. First, there was a mix-up with the set that I ordered. The sales rep seemingly entered the information incorrectly. The purchase receipt did not reflect what was in their system. I went back and forth with the sales rep and manager over multiple phone calls on how to fix this. I ended up having to make another trip to the store to get the issue resolved. Next, I was given three different delivery dates that stretched over a two-month period, which still didn't guarantee that I would receive the items on the date that I was promised afterward. It was explained to me that they did not have all the pieces to the set, so they had to wait until everything came in. The first time the order was delayed, they told me it was because a small side table wasn't available yet. The second and third delays were because a few items were unavailable. But I went on my order tracker, and it clearly showed that all items were, in fact, available. I was confused, so I called again, and the manager was not willing to help me out. He tried to blame their tracking system for glitches. I asked why they could not just deliver the pieces that were available now and deliver the other items on a later date? He told me that they could not do multiple deliveries because they would be at a loss with time and labor if they did. I immediately vented my frustration and canceled. I went to another furniture supplier that same day, purchased a new set, and received it that same week. I had to share this because I didn't want anyone to experience what I went through.
