Ridiculous errors on (basic) take out order for (2) @ Chapel View/Cranston location.
Decided to go inside to order-a take out order-(due to many previous errors on orders via the drive thru-that I have never complained about). Sat inside and waited 10 minutes for the completed order.
Asked for no lettuce, no tomatoes on a turkey sandwhich. Got lettuce and tomatoes. Asked for and paid extra for 2 bags of chips- got 1 bag. [Due to prior errors on orders- decided to look in bag-before leaving and told them they forgot the extra chips]. Got a blank look and was passed a bag of chips. Also got an extra bonus that they apparently decided I needed- -so they put avacado on my sandwhich- really?? -Didn't order that!
Should have unwrapped the sandwhich before leaving. (Didn't know that I am now expected to unwrap the sandwhich- and pull it apart to see that they have given me what I ordered). They appear to need a special station/place for people to do that-since they can't seem to read a simple order. Spent time at home-pulling apart sandwhich and scraping off the stuff.
My aunt ordered a BLT- BACON, lettuce tomatoes and avacado sandwhich. There was NO bacon. She ordered an extra pickle and got none.
I called twice yesterday to complain- which I never do; secondary to prior poor experiences and decided to push back on this order and complain.
Spoke to 'Kim' -the 1st time who asked me if I was going to come back for them to "remake the sandwhich'?- Told her I wasn't going to get in the car and drive back -from home--while my aunt and I were having lunch. I then spoke to a "manager" the 2nd time-who then told me she would forward this on to .."her manager". Was told -(twice)- I would receive an email or text with a "credit" toward my next order. (They would send it "now") - which was yesterday.
Told them my email and spelled it -(twice)-the 1st time I called. They had my info the 2nd time I called- but misspelled the email -from the 1st call. I have yet to receice an email/text for a "credit". ( I have a Panera rewards card)- so they have my info.
My impression- They don't care. They've made a unpleasant experience worse- by promising something -twice -that they have yet to deliver. Is this the best they can do?
Am laughing at the bottom of the receipt. "Accuracy matters. If your order is not right, please let a manager know". **...
Read moreI’ll preface this with it’s my fault for not learning my lesson and going back again and again. I have continuously had a bad experience at this store for over a year now and keep convincing myself “well it can’t be bad EVERY time”. I’ve finally gotten the hint. Notable bad experiences include but not limited to: placed pickup order, and after picking up and getting home realized I didn’t receive my sandwich. Called the store to give them a heads up that I was on my way back to get the food I paid for, and person on the phone was lovely and assured it’d be ready when I got there. When I got there they didn’t know anything about it, and when I asked the manager who happened to be up front (at the time I thought she was the one on the phone), she was rude and made me feel like I did something wrong/I was inconveniencing her….ended up leaving with my sandwich that was practically thrown at me by the annoyed (?!) kitchen staff 10 minutes later. After that I said ok I’ll chalk that up to her and the team having a bad day. I go back again a couple weeks later, the sandwich I ordered was slopped together and looked worse than something you would get at a gas station. Barely a scoop of chicken salad, one piece of lettuce and a tomato, soggy bread. Followed by a few more experiences with sub par food. I figure there’s no way an order for a bagel - just sliced and to go - can go wrong, so I go back. This time I’m hoping to go through the drive through. I pull up and there’s a “cash only - sorry for the inconvenience” sign. I ask them does this mean cash only inside too or just drive through? The person was very confused by this, making it seem like they didn’t even know that sign was there. I give up, knowing now this is likely going to be another bad experience I want to spare myself from, and drive away without anything. And lastly, a couple weeks later, I figure I’ll give it one more shot. Go to drive through at peak breakfast time to try and get a bagel and they say “sorry we’re only doing online pickup orders, you can come inside if you’d like”.
What is going on at this place? Giving it 2 stars because I’ve never seen it dirty or anything like that, and most of the staff is pleasant, but the actual food, service, and experience is a nightmare. For the price you’re paying, much better to spend...
Read moreI have been visiting this Panera Bread for the last year and a half. I am a very frequent customer, and for the most part have had some very positive experiences. However, today changed that.
I was visiting during a busy lunch hour, and the staff knows me pretty well, since I have been visiting many times over the last few years. I always show my patronage and buy something, and encourage the people I’m having meetings with to also buy stuff. Today, I was interrupted, and told that I was a “waste of space” and a nuisance to the employees, and was asked to leave. I was so distraught.
I understand that it was a busy lunch hour, but I had bought food and drink, to show my patronage during my meeting. As a paying customer, I find this absolutely ridiculous. As a regular customer, it’s PROBABLY not a good idea to be calling me a waste of space.
I immediately got up and left. I can take my business (and everyone else who has meetings with me) elsewhere, and go to a more friendly place, like the Starbucks up the street. That kind of behavior from employees is unacceptable, and I never plan on visiting this location again.
As for the Panera employee that decided to have an altercation with me today, thank you for ruining my day and calling me a waste of space! That was much...
