I’d been to Moon Star a couple of times before but always found the food average. I decided to give it another try since I’d never had their orange chicken before. The lunch special is a good deal for the amount of food you get (they added a generous portion of orange chicken).

Although the owners are very nice and friendly (one of the things I like the most about this place), I don’t think I’ll be returning in a long time. Something about the food made me feel sick. I don’t know if it was the greasiness or something that was wrong with it. It didn’t go light on my stomach.

The orange chicken has a lot of sauce with intense orange flavor including rinds that sometimes felt too strong. The rice tasted too greasy and its portion was a little smaller than expected.

I do not recommend ordering the wonton soup as a lunch side, it had a funky smell and the wontons were not appetizing at all, even less if you take a look at the mystery meat inside them.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend this place, but if you’re looking for an average cheap lunch that is filling it’s a...

Simple and effective! Stopped in last night to grab something quick. I ordered a General Tso’s combination and a Large Pork Lo-Mein. When I went inside it reminded me of a place I used to frequent back in Queens. Family owned and operated, the young man who took care of me at the front was very polite. I got my food on-time and hot. The food was great, I have absolutely no complaints. The General Tsos was actually spicy like I prefer, the rice was fresh and flavorful. The Lo-Mein was just what I expected. I would definitely...

Update: I always order veggies and they tasted like chemicals last go-around.

Just by looking at their rice in the pics, I knew it was likely not going to be all that tasty so I asked for extra soy sauce. When I got home, of course there was zero soy sauce in the bag and the rice was as I suspected, bland.

Buddha Delight, the sauce was amazing!

Veggie spring rolls and crab rangoons were okay, nothing to write home about.

Much better than Wang Chinese Restaurant down the road for certain!

Overall, I would...

Tried this place and the sesame chicken tastes pretty good. Nice lil crunch but still tender. The house lo mein is tasty but is light on ingredients in my opinion. The Crab Rangoon appetizer...don't get. The meat is minimal compared to how big it is. Not worth it at all. Egg roll is small compared to other places but not too bad. Store was ok, had some visible wear on the floor tiling. Overall ok experience. I would go here if I was in a pinch, but not my first option as there are better options around.
