Pure Pho & Grill — Restaurant in Cumming

I very seldom write reviews about eating establishments especially during this time of pandemic. I’m sorry but this place obviously is not a customer oriented restaurant. Upon arrival we noticed the sign on the door said that the establishment was opened I looked on my IPhone and the time was 8:56 PM so my wife and I went up to the hostess stand and waited for an individual to come up and I said that there were going to be 2 of us dining this evening. The young Asian man looked at my wife and I and said “we close at 9:00”! I then said that you have a sign in the front that says open and showing him my phone I said politely that it’s 8:57 and then the negativity starts and the next comment was now that the kitchen is closed! I really didn’t want to make a big deal out of this and I kindly said that there are many local eating establishments in the area and we will be more than happy to dine at a location that wants to be a little more logical about the ethics in dinning. Hey, I’m a local business man that has owned and invested in the hospitality eatery industry and I have never denied ANYONE service prior to being closed at the true designated closing time! If their website says open till 9:00 PM and it’s 8:59 PM were still open for business! PERIOD! I’m not a ball buster but I’m sure that money is still green and we always tip at least 20% plus ALWAYS! It’s all good because we hit Grub Burger next door had 2 great meals! Walking back to our car my wife says I don’t care what time it is we won’t be going back there again! Do yourself a favor and hit Vickery Village were there is a Pho restaurant along with many other types of eateries and even a few extra minute drive to Alpharetta where there are an abundance of great eateries that will welcome you...

Don’t order well done meat & actually expect to get it prepared correctly. The first time I ordered the shaking beef I ordered it well done and it was literally still bloody & pretty much mooing at me. I called them and they gave me a credit (that’s another long story. It took multiple phone calls for them to actually resolve the issue. They kept saying they would call me back and of course never did.) I placed an order today utilizing my credit and stressed to them that this was a replacement order and to please, please be sure the beef was WELL DONE. When I got there to pick it up they acted as if they had no idea that I was using a credit, even though I was told upon placing the order that everything was all set. Their internal communication needs some serious work. As if that wasn’t frustrating enough, here I am, again with beef that is no where near well done! It’s literally Bloody again! I’m not even going to bother with calling them again, i’ll just chalk it up to a $19 loss. It’s very frustrating because from what I’ve been able to actually eat (rice) it seems like it would’ve been pretty good. See picture for what’s supposed to be “well done”. I get that mistakes can happen but for this to be the second time, the fact that I stressed to them what happened last time, and I asked them to be sure it was well done, it’s unacceptable....

This place is pho for people who have never had good pho. I've been trying to find good pho in the burbs and of all of the restaurants this place finishes last. Disappointing given the 4.3 stars for this restaurant shown on google maps, but I promise you that it's not a 4.3 star restaurant. I order the same thing at each of the pho restaurants; pork spring rolls and the beef pho. The springs rolls here ranked last; bland and the peanut sauce was watery. The pho was skimpy on meat. I asked for a side of tofu and received 6 small cubes of tofu. Embarrassingly small portions. The meat was rather tasteless and the broth was uninspiring. My fiancée had the salmon on vermicelli noodles, and the salmon was way overcooked, hard and rubbery. Again, this is Vietnamese food for people who've never had it before and don't have anything to compare it to. Pho24 and Photastic are much better options. I see reviews about the great ambiance...I don't know what they're talking about. There was no music playing at all and the restaurant had all the ambience of a high school cafeteria. Servers seemed nice enough. Service was timely and requests were fulfilled. Food was sub-par,...
