We went there about a couple of months ago. Super excited to try this place. We all love Mexican food and when we saw they had Birria tacos, we were sold. We went on a Thursday around 5:30 PM. There were two other tables in the restaurant besides ours. Not very busy.
The service was amazing. The server was very attentive. He answered our questions and checked on us frequently.
My daughter ordered the steak burrito, I ordered the Birria quesadillas and my son ordered the Birria pizza. The pizza was expensive but it’s Birria. The chips and salsa were good. The salsa had a decent flavor and the chips were fresh. We got their queso, which was really good.
The steak burrito was a good amount and the steak had good flavor. My daughter was not a huge fan of beans and the burrito had quite a bit of beans inside. This is no fault of the restaurant. She simply forgot to tell them to remove the beans overall, her burrito was good.
The real reason we came was because of the Birria availability. I was so disappointed and so was my son. If you want pot roast meat that was not seasoned and had a lot of fat pieces then their Birria is your thing. It was absolutely the worst thing I have ever eaten. I was picking around the fat. I ended up not eating my quesadilla. My son was struggling to eat his pizza because the meat was unfavorable and very fatty. The consomé had no flavor at all and a lot of oil. It was basically liquid colored oil. The server did hear us talking about how fatty the meat was and how it was lacking in flavor. I did not eat my food whatsoever. I just could not deal with the glob of fat and no flavor.. my meal was removed from my bill. And instead of giving a discount on the pizza because again my son did not eat it. They ended up giving a 50% discount on my daughters burrito. We also got free dessert. I did not ask for discounts nor did we ask for a free dessert they did that on their own accord. Again top notch service. The server did witness me picking around my food and the same for my son. The manager came to speak to us, and I did let him know that the meat had no flavor and a lot of fat. staff super nice.
Personally, I don’t think I would return. If I did, it would be for the chips and salsa and queso. It was not impressed at all with their...
Read moreI was truly disappointed with my recent experience at Rreal Tacos in Cumming. After being greeted at the door by the hostess and two other staff members, including a manager, we were seated and then left unattended for nearly 10 minutes. No one came by to take a drink order or ask if we’d like to start with appetizers. Meanwhile, we noticed other patrons who were seated after us being greeted almost immediately. Eventually, a kind server from across the room noticed our frustration and came over to ask if we’d been helped. She was very polite, apologetic, and did her best to make us feel acknowledged. We appreciated her hospitality, but by that point we requested to speak with a manager. To our surprise, the manager who came over was the same individual who had greeted us at the door. When we explained that no one had acknowledged us since being seated, she apologized but then shifted the blame to the hostess, claiming we were seated in a section with no server assigned. What made this more concerning was that we had literally witnessed this manager standing at the host stand when we were seated, confirming the table herself. Rather than taking accountability, she deflected responsibility onto an employee in a way that came across as dismissive and unprofessional. Leadership is about owning the guest experience, and unfortunately, this manager’s lack of accountability and empathy left us feeling undervalued as customers. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy, so there was no reasonable explanation for why we were ignored. Ultimately, we left feeling disappointed, confused, and hungry, certainly not the outcome we expected when we chose this restaurant over other nearby options. We ended up at another nearby Mexican restaurant where the service was outstanding! They not only provided outstanding service but also made my birthday celebration special by surprising me with dessert and singing at our table. The contrast in hospitality was...
Read moreAmbiance: Rreal Tacos strikes a comfortable middle ground – it's neither overly fancy nor run-down. The atmosphere is casual and approachable, suitable for a relaxed meal. They also offer outdoor seating, which is a pleasant option when the weather permits and adds a nice touch to the dining experience.
Menu & Food: The menu, while not extensive, offers a reasonable selection, particularly for non-vegetarians. However, vegetarians might find the choices somewhat limited.
During my visit, I tried a few different items:
Shrimp Taco: This was decent, but frankly, I've had more flavorful shrimp tacos elsewhere. It didn't quite hit the mark for me. Fish Taco: This was a highlight compared to the shrimp. The flavors were better balanced, making it a more enjoyable choice. Chicken Burrito Bowl: The bowl was perfectly acceptable – a solid "OK." It fulfilled its purpose but wasn't particularly memorable. Vegetarian Burrito: Unfortunately, this dish was a miss for me. I didn't enjoy the combination of ingredients or the overall flavor profile.
Drinks: On a positive note, Rreal Tacos offers a good selection of non-alcoholic beverages. It's nice to see appealing options beyond the usual sodas.
Overall Impression: Rreal Tacos provides a decent casual dining experience. While some dishes, like the fish taco, were enjoyable, others were just average or, in the case of the vegetarian burrito, disappointing. The limited vegetarian options are also a drawback.
You likely won't leave Rreal Tacos feeling completely disappointed, especially if you stick to their stronger offerings and enjoy the casual setting or outdoor seating. However, it falls short of being a standout destination. It's a reliable spot for a quick bite if you manage your expectations, particularly if you're not looking for extensive...
