Worst visit to Atlanta Bread at any location in over 10 years. I have been a long-term customer of Atlanta Bread at various locations for many years. Today was Thursday which is "Chicken Chili" day - one of my favorites. I am a very easy going guy and always polite, but today I was treated with complete disrespect by one of the employees making my food (the "sandwich maker"). It started when a very nice lady was taking my order who told me it was only her second day and she was still learning the register - no problem at all. I was very patient, we all start somewhere. I wanted a full turkey sandwich and a quart of chili, and I asked to please substitute the side of white bread with a slice of wheat bread (which is how I have been ordering my lunch for years). She was struggling with the register and seemed confused at first on the substitution and walked down to the sandwich maker to get clarity on how to enter the substitute. The sandwich maker was quite rude to her in their conversation. When the lady taking my order came back I took pity and said no problem I will explain it to the person making my food on the bread I would like. She finished ringing up my order and I walked down and asked very politely if she (sandwich maker) wouldn't mind swapping out the white bread for wheat bread. She then looked at me and in a very rude and demeaning attitude said "I told you the last time we don't DO THAT here". I was actually taken back and completely caught off guard on the attitude. And it had been a few weeks since I had been at this location and they did swap out my bread every time I asked. I very politely said that is how I have ordered my food at Atlanta Bread for years. She then responded, in an even more rude tone and said "we have only been open a year". I said this was not the only location that I frequent, again very politely and I let it go and sat down to wait for my food. When my food was ready I checked everything and noticed there was only a half sandwich in the bag. No problem, I brought it to the attention of the same sandwich maker and asked if she wouldn't mind making me the other half. She then said, again very demeaning, "you need to get back in line and order what you want". By this time the order taker ran over and said "this was my fault he said he wanted a full sandwich and I entered it wrong". The sandwich maker just looked at me and said with almost a sneer "go back in line". I swear I had a flashback of the Soup Nazi episode in The Jerry Seinfeld show! Now the manager noticed (who was a very nice lady) and walked over and said "don't worry we will make your full sandwich you don't need to wait back in line." Which is what they did. Afterwards I approached the manager and said that I thought I was treated very rudely with complete disrespect. Not just what she said but how she said it with a sneering tone like I had beat her dog or something. The manager apologized and said I am not the only one who has complainedabout her and that finding employees here is difficult. I told her I think your employee is good and fast at making food (I give credit where it is due) as I see her hustling back there, but she gets a failing grade on customer service which makes the difference on whether a customer comes back. I then explained to her that I run a business myself and have managed many employees, and you don't treat customers like they are total idiots even if they act like one which I don't believe I was. I also told her I don't believe in whipping employees but I do believe in coaching them and she needs serious coaching. She agreed and apologized again. I thanked her for making it right, wished her luck, and left the restaurant with my food. God I love Chicken Chili but I might have to start going to a different location if I see the same sandwhich maker again. I am afraid to ask for...
Read moreI am updating my previous review from 1/26/23 from 1 star to 5+ stars. Any company that personally reaches out to a customer to make things right and goes above and beyond to assure they are happy not only deserves 5 stars, but also deserves your business! Olga, the general manager reached out to me the next day and apologized for the mix-up with my order and with the mishap with the gentleman I spoke with on the phone. She made sure that I could pick up the items in my original order the next morning. I picked up a box of goodies on Sat. morning and with an extra surprise as well. The bakery was so fresh and tasty and my family really enjoyed the muffins, muffin tops and pastry.😊 If you're at The Collection don't forget to stop in to Atlanta Bread, their bakery is definitely worth the trip! I'm sure we'll be stopping by soon to try out some of their other fares as well. 🤩🤩
CONSUMER BEWARE! Placed an order online for pickup. Order received only had 2 correct items out of 6 items I ordered. When I tried to call to find out what happened I selected option #4 to speak to a manager. That just puts you in a continuous loop, so just select option #1 to place an order to actually be able to talk with someone. A gentleman picked up and was familiar with my order when I described it. His explanation was “he tried to give me the closest options to what I had selected, and He gave me the best of what they had in their bakery selection.” Unfortunately, I ended up with one item I could not even eat because it had blueberries on it & I’m allergic to them, and I was missing 2 items completely. He said he was going to go ahead and make a partial adjustment on my order. And then he just hung up the phone. Lesson learned - if you want to order from here, call your order in. That way at least you’ll only order what they...
Read moreI’ve ordered from here MANY times but will lever again. I’m currently sick and was unable to go in and order like I usually do but ordered via door dash instead. I ordered the half sandwich half soup option and received the right sandwich but a completely different soup. On the website it clearly says the soup is available on Sundays which apparently it is not. Instead of calling me or anything of the sort they gave me tomato soup. It tasted awful and I had to spit it out, and usually I am fine with tomato soup but it was chunky and just overall appalling. For my sandwich I ordered the chicken pesto panini and it was awful as well, this is what I have ordered for YEARS and have never received anything this horrendous. Maybe it is just this location that is disappointing because I haven’t ordered from this one in months but it’s clear to say I am not pleased and will not be ordering it going back ESPECIALLY after speaking on the phone with one of the workers who offered no solution and basically blamed me for their mistakes. 1 it is not MY fault that your website is messed up, and 2 I would have appreciated some type of communication about my soup being switched and would have liked to CHOOSE what I am PAYING for. It’s ridiculous...
