I will start out with all of the things about wild wing cafe that keep us coming back.
Large selection of ice-cold beers on tap. They only offer one size, but the pints are always served ice cold and are very fresh.
Ambiance. They always have the best music on the televisions with videos, it is an 80s mix most regularly, and the volume is great for a place to hang out and chill with friends. They also offer a karaoke night and have live music on weekends. We have never heard a band here we did not enjoy.
Comfort, large clean dining area, and with the music, you do not overhear every conversation around you while you are sitting at a table or booth, but you can still converse easily.
We have probably had thirty past visits since the opening that we raved about and recommended this "new" restaurant to friends for many reasons.
When this location opened in Dawsonville, they definitely were a solid 5/5 stars in every category. The food was cooked to order and seasoned to perfection, and the service was always fast and good. There was a line for a seat on most nights for the first few months.
Sadly, things then began to decline and continue declining. Our last several visits have left us highly disappointed in the food category and the service. Our food took forever on our last two visits and arrived undercooked and cold. These were not busy times, and there were lots of staff members. The staff are friendly but do not have direction.
It took 37 minutes before our waitress came to our table to take our drink order on the last visit. Once we ordered our beer and fried buffalo shrimp appetizer, the food arrived quickly, and the fried Buffalo shrimp was excellent. I asked for napkins and serving plates, and we finally decided to use our fingers to eat the fried shrimp while it was still warm. The shrimp appetizer had plenty of sauce, which we liked, but with no napkins, tails were left on the table, and we had to go to the restrooms to wash the sauce off our hands.
We waited fifteen minutes after our shrimp was done to catch our server's attention, ask about our beers, and place our entree order. I again asked for napkins and plates. We ordered wings and asked for them to be cooked so that the coating was crispy and extra sauce on them. When they arrived at the table, they were drier than mummy dust, and the skin was still stretchy.
I ran into the restroom and returned to our table with a handful of the roller paper towels so we could begin eating. When our server arrived with our beers, I again asked for napkins and plates to put the bones on. and she went and grabbed them for us.
At the end of the evening, the restaurant was still only half full on a Saturday night. It was no wonder for us as to why their business seems to have dropped substantially. Our $72 bill for dry, undercooked wings and poor service was not worth the cost.
While I would say it could be an individual staff issue, this was our fifth visit with terrible food and service. It is most likely a management or lack of management issue.
We will most likely return for the Buffalo Shrimp appetizer, Shrooms, Pretzels, cold beer, and great music but will pass on the wings and other entree menu items until they get their...
Read moreI’m writing to share a very upsetting experience that occurred at your Dawsonville, GA location on the evening of June 6. My friend and I, both African American women, arrived around 7:10 PM and were seated promptly by the hostess, who assured us a server would be with us shortly. The restaurant was not busy. However, as we waited, two other tables near us, seated after us, received service, while we continued to be ignored. Despite one server making eye contact and asking if we needed anything (which was evident), no one returned to our table. We were never brought water, or acknowledged again. After sitting unserved for over 15 minutes, we decided to leave. Even then, no one stopped us or inquired why we were leaving. I asked to speak with the manager, Chris, who apologized and confirmed with the hostess that our table had indeed been assigned. But to us, the issue was clear: we were deliberately ignored. The disregard we experienced felt discriminatory, and I left feeling deeply disrespected, unwelcome, and hurt. This is not about a simple oversight, it was an experience that made us feel invisible and unwanted. It’s hard to believe that in 2025, we are still facing such blatant bias in public establishments. I’ve been shopping at the North GA outlets for years and have dined at numerous restaurants in the area. I’ve never felt the way I did last night. I sincerely hope that Wild Wing Café will not take this lightly. Staff training, accountability, and a strong commitment to equity and inclusion are clearly needed. No guest should be treated the way we were. I emailed the owner's & as of today, no one had...

We ordered the nachos with added chicken. We ordered two 22oz Miller light draft beers. If you ever want to experience the culinary equivalent of disappointment, look no further than the nachos at this place. The nachos themselves were a poorly designed mess, as if they had been thrown on a pan and then microwaved for good measure. The cheese was a sad flavor or metal and smoke, congealed blob that clung to the chips like a bad relationship.
And the chicken? Oh, the chicken. Or, what chicken? It tasted like it had been seasoned with regret and cooked to the consistency of rubber. I wouldn’t be surprised if it had been recycled from last week’s leftovers - seriously. The whole dish was a tragic symphony of blandness and despair. My wife never complains and she barely touched them and complained. We were there at 6PM on Tuesday, 9/24/24. I counted 12 people, not including the two hostesses who were glued to their phones.
In summary, if you’re looking for a meal that will make you question your life choices, these nachos with added chicken are the way to go....
