One bad cashier ruined it all! I go to this location to pick up coffee almost every weekend. And most of time I bring my medium sized labradoodle (main reason I go there because I thought it was pet friendly). The experience had been very good up until today, when a male cashier with a large beard (forgot to get his name) very rudely told me that I had to get my dog out of there because no dogs were allowed. I responded very politely by saying :โSorry, I did not know you guys donโt allow dogsโ Then I promptly took my dog out and put him in the car and returned to wait for my coffee. In the meantime another person entered the store with a dog, and did not received the same treatment (the cashier appeared to know the other dogโs owner because they chatted for a while even after the order was completed). Although I was a little bummed, I left without saying anything after getting my coffee. I then shared the experience with some friends, and one of them called the store to get clarification on the dog policy because she too had a labradoodle and wanted to know the policy for her own reference. As soon as she asked about the dog policy, the guy on the phone started to get agitated and asked โare you that Asian women from this morning!โ My friend said: โno, sheโs a friend of mine, and Iโm just trying to get some clarification for myselfโ. He started to get more agitated and began to raise his voice. And then hung up on her! When my friend called back, he got even more angry and started yelling at her. My friend had to tell him twice to โplease calm downโ. Not only did he NOT calm down, he proceeded to scream at her for about a minute until my friend couldnโt take it and hung up! My friend was stunned over how she was treated for asking a simple question. Itโs very unfortunate that Philz employs someone with such poor attitude. I have no problem adhering whatever store policy, but I do NOT tolerate rudeness and racist/sexist comment like โthat Asian womenโ, and being screamed at for asking a legit question. I hope Philz take this seriously and properly train its employee on customer service (or just fundamental...
ย ย ย Read moreTo be honest I was reluctant to review this shop just cause I know philz quality and I donโt want to stop people from going to philz coffee shops.
However this shop ainโt it chiefโฆ
Coffee quality has lowered over the time this shop has been in business. When it first opened the coffee was on point. But now thereโs a 95% chance your coffee will be water with coffee.
I have a few complaints Coffee quality is bad, if you are coming to get coffee please go to another philz shop for a better fix. It is clear the team here needs to work on their coffee to water ratio cause itโs inconsistent almost all the time I visit.
Sweet and creamy is sweet and creamy not medium or none. Iโve ordered about 5 times now and 5 times in a row (sometimes even twice in one visit) and Iโve gotten sweetness and cream different than what Iโve asked for.
Overall if you are coming for good vibes then this is a good spot. If you are coming for coffee then donโt go - visit another branch. Unfortunately Iโve had many cases of bringing first timers to this spot and they were unfazed and at times disgusted by the coffee. โIs this the coffee youโve been hyping up about?โ Was the last comment I got from friends who came from NYC.
Please have the baristas retrained here, or at least get some baristas from the SJ state location; cause theyโre on top of their consistency and coffee is day and...

Location/Parking Located pretty much in the center of Main Street Cupertino plaza. I came here around 11:30am on a Wednesday. It took a little while (~5-10 minutes) to find parking due to many other restaurants and shops in the area. But parking is free, just keep circling if you can't find a spot the first time around haha.
Ordering experience There was no line when I arrived at Philz. Now during COVID, they just have you pay and inform a barista/staff member your drink up at the cashier at the same time rather than (before COVID) order your drink first with a barista and then walk over to the cashier then pay. I actually like this system better because it's not confusing and you don't have to say your order twice. Not that saying your order twice is a big deal, but it can get confusing where the line to order is, where you pay for your drink, etc.
The drink The iced mint mojito was made perfectly--sweet and creamy with almond milk---just how I love it! I have been going to Philz for 5+ years now and just never got around to reviewing them. I highly recommend giving this drink a try if you are unsure of what to get or don't really even like coffee... their iced mint mojito is sweet, delicious, and keeps you awake!
Overall 5/5 - lovely location...
