4B's (BBBB) = Big, Beautiful Breakfast Burritos
$3.99 breakfast burritos Mon - Fri 7am - 11am
Social Distancing review
A former drive-thru Taco Bell, Juanito's Mexican Food had me at $3.99 breakfast burritos. For a small pittance, hungry patrons can enjoy a whopping, hunky breakfast burrito with their choice of meat. Options are ham, bacon, sausage, chorizo & machacha. Unfortunately, the "crazy breakfast burrito", a mix of all the meats, isn't included in the promo.
So far, I've had the bacon, ham & sausage breakfast burritos. My least favorite was the ham, and bacon edging out sausage as my favorite. The burritos are absolutely loaded with scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheese & meat. When I get home, I like to sprinkle moringa powder, made from my moringa tree in the yard, to add some green and all those beneficial vitamins & minerals. A douse of red & green sauce - perfection!
Besides the breakfast burrito promo, there are also various daily specials, and menudo during weekends.
Service has been good. Food is made to order, so expect there to be a wait. A small parking lot, there is also the aforementioned drive-thru. Because of the wait, I recommend just walking up to the window. Available are a few tables for patio dining.
I just downed the sausage breakfast burrito, and my stomach says "No mas". At $3.99, Juanito's breakfast burritos are a steal & can feed a small army. I'm glad I gave this place a try & look forward to coming back often. Someday, I'll explore the rest of the menu, but it's so hard to veer off proven winners. Hasta...
Read moreI've been to this location several Times now since they first opened. I've returned to this location on several occasions based on the strength of that first grand opening, but no more. Long story short, they overly salt their carne asada. Not only is it too salty, but the meat itself is far too mushy for carne asada, which is supposed to have a bit of firmness and chew to it. The meat here resembles more like a stewed meat that practically disintegrates the moment you start chewing it. I have a pretty broad range of what I consider acceptable, but the carne asada is just extremely salty mush. I don't even get the impression that it's grilled. Frankly I feel a little nauseous thinking about how salty it is.
This is not an isolated incident, I've ordered carne asada dishes at least three Times spread out over several months and it's game over for me. Carne asada is a cornerstone of a good "Alberto's" style cookie cutter joint, but if that isn't done right I may as well give up on a place.
If you want good carne asada, just go half a block to the east to the other joint. I won't name it out of a modicum of respect, but you can't miss it, it's right next to the corner gas station. Or just order...
Read moreI've been eating at Juanito's for a couple of years, and they've always been good and reliable - a little pricey but generous portions. However, on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 8:40 p.m., I ordered a 3-rolled tacos combo (beef) for my daughter, and she got food poisoning and was sick until Saturday, July 27 when she could finally eat again. Monday was a hot day (88 F) in Cypress, and I bought the dinner at 8:40 p.m., so it was late in the day; apparently, something was left out too long without being sufficiently refrigerated and got bacteria. The service is otherwise good, and the staff are really nice. But I'm not going back; who wants to pay $11.85 plus a $5.00 tip to get diarrhea for four days? Someone else who left a review on Yelp got sick the same night and vomited everything up the...
