I was looking forward to trying this spot since receiving some marketing in the mail; which they get a 5 stars on for the deception. My husband and I finally made the trip over today and I walked out of there vowing never to return again. The food was disrespectful, plain and simple. Rice tasted stale and old; I wouldn't be surprised that the fried rice may have been from the day before. While I wasn't expecting a lot of food, given its a Tuesday during the day... but still. The bourbon chicken was also stale, as was the teriyaki chicken. There was a sad giant kielbasa sausage floating in milky looking water... I did not know what to make of the sad kielbasa. I saw they offered pho, which would have hit perfectly given that its cold and rainy out... I should have just had an instant ramen at home. The attendant was rude to me, off the jump. I walked up and waited, with no acknowledgement; which is fine, I am no one special but a "hey be right with you" doesn't hurt. You could tell working there probably sucks too. I finally get an order in and asked if I could get shrimp and the attendant straight up said no, and pointed at a stock image of a pho soup blown up into a poster and posted up near the noodle baskets. Like "here, this is what we make". Its only beef and noodles, no shrimp. I guess he caught my visible step back and I said, "okay, I'll take that, thank you"; he tried to smooth the blow and said that if I gathered my shrimp from the food wells he could add it to my soup. No, it's all good, I just want my beef and noodles at this point. The noodles were quickly cooked in a basket which I am familiar with and have no issue with. The soup broth was being held in an huge commercial coffee machine looking tub on a shelf that had definitely seen better days. The meat had an after taste and the broth was so scalding hot, it was all temperature and no flavor. My husband only liked the fried flounder. We didn't even look at the desserts. The atmosphere was top tier for me. Cheesy covers of songs playing in the background, the refurbished decor from the previous Old Country Buffet were prevalent and I did like that it was all self-serve. No one is talking loud, and everyone is just spread out in little pods of people throughout the space. My husband noted that THIS is what America was. We are all sad folks, taking a moment to sit in silence while we eat a poorly put together meal. Also the mac and cheese was watery... an abomination. Will I go back and spend another $30 bucks to get the squirts?...
Read more1st time trying with family from out of town on a Friday evening about 7pm, Price for four adults + two seniors totaled approximately $115 give or take a buck. Price for the two seniors was in the 32 dollar range or 16 bucks each. Drinks were included in the price unlike other places where the buffet is one price then they charge extra for the drinks, plus I assume the seafood on the buffet adds to the higher cost where other places have a buffet price that one might pay extra for the seafood.
We did not try the seafood so I can't speak to that, the small salad bar was not as large as as at other buffets and the salad mix of your typical salad greens look poor. There was brown liquid on the tray of greens like you's see in a clamshell pack from the store once it sits to long so we didn't eat any of that.
My the other options from the main buffet were good, My niece said the meat loaf was good, as was the fried chicken which were just the peg leg section of the wing and they had some chicken legs that were not fried but I can't recall what they were. The major fault I found was they had a large piece of bottom round roast and slabs of pork ribs that the customer had to slice themself. THAT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED. You have dozens of customers handling a carving knife to slice their own meat portions. I WAS a meat cutter and people who weren't have know clue as to properly slice a large piece of beef, plus the roast was blood red and in the center. If a customer accidentally cuts themself which trying to slice their own piece of meat that would be another issue. A carving knife is not like handling a set of tongs. In general what we ate had good flavor but the amount of options was way smaller than the previous buffet that occupied the spot. We tried it once but in this case once is enough. I can't see...
Read moreMy family and I have been going to this buffet for quite some time now, can’t remember exactly how long but its our go to for great Asian buffet, our kids love the food and so the us the adults. Food have alway been great and quality also on point, however our experience there yesterday completely change our expectations. I was on a party of 10 people 6 adults and 4 kids, for staring when we got there the place was complete full but that’s to be expect for on a busy Sunday afternoon, so the day went like this, we were greed but the cashier with a very serious attitude, then my wife and her mom try to place an order on the hibachi bar. As expected you choose your items and them you tell the chefs how you want it cook, however this time they were rude and with a horrible attitude tellling them that they weren’t going to cook the rice they wanted because there was fresh rice serve at the bar and they will only cook other items. So i had to go myself and stand up to it, after that one of the crew member that was replenishing food at the bar was very rude trying our kid like he was doing something wrong and that he wasn’t supposed to get food on his own while my wife was standing next to him. This really got me fired up, all afternoon was full of rudeness and attitude. And the food quality also had a major dropped, i honestly don’t think we might be going to this place any time soon or ever, this is something I can’t let it pass really easy when they disrespect my family. I wish they change everything or otherwise they will be rated as the worse...
