Celestial Beerwork: The Best Local IPA in Dallas
Anthony RAnthony R
We’ve lived nearby for 3 years and walk over all the time. Let me tell you how good this place is, when our lease was up, staying close to Celestial came up in several conversations when deciding whether to stay or move elsewhere. The staff is amazing, truly a place where they know your name. Though, I think my dog is more famous around these parts. The beers for the most part are very hop forward and delicious, but they also have smoothie sours and stouts that are the best I’ve had. No other brewery I’ve been to has had the variety and uniqueness of beer that Celestial brews. For instance they have an Ube beer currently and it is both delicious and creative. They also have so many great events. Field days, science fairs, dog centric days which are great for your pup. Check out Yappy Hour for treats for your pups as well as other vendors and activities. They recently also added a taqueria food truck which is open whenever the brewery is open. We know it’s good because we’ve come here with that being the main reason for the visit. Even better is Celestial is literally next to a DART station and Park and Ride. Nothing better than having a few beers before a Dallas Stars/Mavs game, or a concert and hopping the DART train to American Airlines Center. It’s the best brewery I’ve been to and that is the sentiment of anyone I’ve ever brought here. OH! Almost forgot GREAT patio with live music sometimes and plenty of shade. If you’re nearby, check it out! If you’re not close, check it out! If you have a long layover at Love Field, hop on the DART Love Line (it’s free to the station from the airport) walk over and grab a beer and taco!

I’m slowly discovering the little tap rooms in Dallas and Celestial Beerworks is not exception. It looks unassuming little café but when you enter it’s a really nice space. There’s seating inside and to the right you can see the brewing area. The patio open up with table and chairs to sit back and relax with a great craft beer. I was visiting for an event “May The Fourth Be With You”. I got dressed in my Star Wars gear and put Princess Leia in best frock to enjoy the fun. She had her run of the patio area offering kisses to two leg and four-legged friends. The Celestial staff were dressed in theme as well as all the listed beers were Star Wars themed. I tried the Maul-Garita. It’s a Margarita styled Berliner weisse with Lemon, Lime and Strawberry 4%abv. Absolutely delicious. The Darth Chocolate with Mexican Hot Chocolate Imperial Stout with Cocoa nibs, cinnamon, vanilla and lactose. 11.5% abv. It doesn’t taste boozy but it will sneak up on you after the 2nd glass. Since I didn’t know when I would be back I got a four pack of IPA to tempt my palate on these upcoming summer days.

Possibly the best brewery in the DFW area. You can usually find their beers on taps across the metroplex but the motherlode is here. The best hazy IPAs by a long mile. They are also inventive and their Ube drink is understandably popular. Can drink cans of this stuff - it's a delicious alcoholic smoothie.

While it's my local and I do end up here almost weekly, the rotating beers keep you coming back. The vibe is great with a nice outdoor space with some cool industrial vibes (the dart runs overhead). The bar tenders are very friendly, patient and very knowledgeable.

Finally what really tips things in their favor is the awesome Mexican food truck, Cosmic Cantina. Great tacos and tortas. Come hungry and thirsty.

My only hesitation writing the review is that a year ago it felt like a little secret. However now, especially on nice days, this place is absolutely heaving! They deserve the success - alas the secret is out!

Go here, get a hazy IPA....
