On any other day I would give THIS location 5 stars but not anymore. I usually LOVE this Dickey’s location, and my last 2 stops have been awful I stopped for my usual sliced brisket sandwich with grilled onions and was HIGHLY disappointed. I asked if i could get my order sooner than the 30 mins the young man that assisted said it had just come in after check multiple orders sitting there. They didn’t add grilled onions but she did catch the mistake and handed me my sandwich with a greasy receipt that I had to wipe off and actually throw away because it was hard to read in the grease spots. I live and work closer to other Dickey’s and frequent this location when I’m anywhere in the area, because the food taste better, never too fatty and the atmosphere is great. The 3 employees who were working when I placed my order in the app were lacking even a little customer service skills, they weren’t busy andI still had to wait for 15-20 mins. Very disappointing experience - I hope this store hasn’t been taken over and/or the cook has left because either of those 2 things will insure that I’d never visit Dickey’s Barbecue Pit again. When I find a good thing I usually stick with them - hoping to see some friendly familiar faces on my next visit or that’ll be my last time eating Dickey’s! And I’ll be stopping this week for a rib sandwich on my way to work UNLESS I don’t see familiar faces and in that case I’ll be turning right back around. I AM HOPING FOR A...
Read moreAttempted to use the $30.00 gift card some relatives gave us. At the Parma, OH store there was a sloppily hand written sign on the front door! “CLOSED NO MEAT” Called corporate for a refund - poor “customer experience” follow up to date. UPDATE. UPDATE. UPDATE WELL……ACTUALLY THERE IS NO UPDATE I HAVE SINCE EMAILED THEM AS THEY REQUESTED AND STILL NO REPLY BACK FROM DICKEYS BARBEQUE PIT AS OF DECEMBER 13, 2022—-Perhaps I’ll make it a New Years Resolution to get my money returned. Meanwhile America, consider dining elsewhere besides Dickey’s Barbeque Pit…. To those just joining this review I will recap series of events:
Dickey's: the McDonald's of barbecue.
For the past 50+ years, Dickey's was my favorite bbq in a bbq-rich major Texas city. But not anymore, for sadly, franchising has killed its quality and its integrity. This is no longer the bbq it once was.
The downfalls are steep. Until recently, you could always SEE the delicious-looking side dishes when going thru the line at a Dickey's restaurant; now, the view of the food has been deliberately blocked. That's undoubtedly because the sides are no longer fresh or high quality like they used to be, so the management doesn't want you to see it. And they don't even bother to fill the small containers or the bowls when sides are ordered. No Texan-style generosity of spirit is in evidence.
Even the chopped beef is dry and full of hard, black bits that aren't palatable or chewable. The sauce, once delicious, is now gummy with cornstarch. The potato salad used to have dill in it and was wonderfully homestyle – but now it is fake yellow and sugar-sweet. The buns have become far smaller too, so you get less beef for more money.
I look forward to exploring the many other bbq options in Dallas....
