Okay let’s be very honest here - I was starving so I didn’t even bother taking a picture.
First things first. 3 thin slices of brisket for a plate is INSANE. EXTREMELY DRIED OUT. Now the links were great but sending bread is not a thing for Doe’s. They use dinner rolls for dinner plates which is standard ofc but atleast send two of them lil rolls now cmon. Im really blown away but the amount of Cheese sauce in the Mac vs actually baked Mac. 3.5 stars simply because I kinda like the flavor of the Mac but this is no different from STOVE TOP Mac. Brisket is a complete ZERO ! No flavor , DRIED OUT SO BAD , I will say the cuts were perfect though. Not fatty . Lean I enjoy lean brisket over moist. The links I will give 8.2 as they’re just your average hot links but MILD and has just the right amount of spice. They also pre cut the link which is great. Everything went in the trash EXCEPT the 3 slices of brisket and the links. I could only stomach 4 bites of the Mac , upon opening the Mac it’s sitting in a puddle of cheese. The first time I had does I had hated the Mac because it was way too much black pepper. I agreed with myself that I would go does another chance. Ordered a chicken sandwich and brisket the first time, COMPLETELY DRIED OUT. No diff from today. For 18$ you would think Dallas BBQ would be better. I have yet to find ONE bbq place that exceeds my Standards or even a SIMPLE standard of moist brisket. How is this the bbq state again? Anyone in reviews please drop some .
Doe’s while you sandwich and plate prices are “fair” you’re CHEAP, CARELESS & selfish. With the understanding in mind that inflation is at its most high you would think you would want to RETAIN customers not push them away. It’s no wonder you all are below 4 stars. While you have the IDEA right I need yall to act like yall KNOW. You cannot sell DRIED OUT BRISKET EVERYTIME someone orders. STOP drying your meats out! If anything this brisket is NOT FRESH which it’s realistic when u below 4 stars yall not selling outta brisket now! lol cmon man places like Kooleys I could see possible falling short at times because they actual SELL a lot. In my opinion Doe’s needs to STOP selling MACARONI SOUP ! For one!! TWO ! Stop selling DRY MEAT AND LEARN HOW TO MOISTEN IT BACK UP for sell for the next business day. It’s no secret most soul food or brown owned spots in Dallas sell leftovers. Who cares long as they’re stored correctly and customers aren’t being neglected. Every dollar I spend matters. I will not be ordering from doe’s ever again. Two times is enough lol . I also had to reorder something else because I technically had only 3 slices of brisket as my partner wanted the link. 4 slices would’ve been feasible with the fact u give two plump links …I’d been satisfied if the food was GOOD not completely disappointing besides some links…..
Truly wish this business better as they have potential. Only photo I have is of the Mac 🙄 I was already starving so nobody wanted to further stall over 3 slices...
Read moreThe food had a great taste, we really enjoyed the sausage and the baked beans! This was my husband and I’s first time and we were very excited to try this place out. The young lady who took our order was sweet. We ordered two 2 meat plates, 2 drinks, total $46, included with an added $6 tip just for taking the order.
…..waiting for our order, I walked back up to order a cup of ice 🧊- server: “oh we are out of cups” Me: “ok, well let me get some lays potato chips - “great that will be $1”. I used my card, no problem. Me: “Ma’am, just making sure the orders come with pickles and peppers” …server: “oh they don’t, but they are just .50 cents…” Me: “ok - let me get two - I proceeded to pay with my card.
Realizing we just got played 🧐, my husband went back up and just explained to another server the principle behind accommodating customers. It was .50! Use the tip that I gave you to provide basic condiments to bbq plates! - [and mind you I only received one order of pickles in the end😒]
To top it off, the original server didn’t realize we were still in the restaurant eating and asked server #2 what we wanted when we returned back to the front. She proceeds, “well I can’t make up the prices” and continues to talk disrespectfully not knowing we were still there. She does not understand basic customer service.
Dear Doe’s BBQ - please train your staff to accommodate customers, especially when we are already paying about $20 a plate. The tip offered even before service rendered and then when we(customer) ask for anything outside of the order, should be considered. PICKLES AND PEPPERS SHOULD BE GIVEN AS A COURTESY. Trust, this will not break your restaurant, they belong with all...
Read moreI really didn't want to rate this business a 2 but both my experiences said this what it is. I placed, what I thought to be, a call in order at 12:43 to be picked up by 1:00pm. I ordered the BBQ Beef sandwich for me and my coworker order a bacon cheeseburger. Needless to say when I got there, my food was no where near ready. I paid for it and was given a buzzer to report to the register when it lit up. I spent 38 minutes of my hour lunch just trying to get my food. The food was finally received and I went back to the office so my coworker and I could eat. I wasted $11 and my coworker wasted $12. My coworkers bacon cheeseburger was a frozen patty not completely thawed nor cooked. It was not the free form burger that was seen on Facebook that looked juicy. No it was the dry school cafeteria burger that was not finished cooking. My beef sandwich was clearly day old meat that had been slightly rewarmed and slathered with sauce to try and cover it up. The fries were horrible. They were greasey and not appetizing at all. I figured may it was just an off day. So I waited a week and my daughter went for us on a Saturday. This time I just order the BBQ beef sandwich. Same thing and another waste of money. I would never tell anyone not to frequent this spot but as for me, I am good. It would be a 10 out of 10 do not recommend if someone truly...
