Rice Bowl Express — Restaurant in Dallas

I had come in a few times prior for thier lunch special and was satisfactory food but service was spotty. This time I came in and ordered chicken fried rice which is on the lunch special menu. The person at the register, that later identified themselves as the owner/manager rings my order up I hand him my card to pay and inquire how much is the total. He says an amount but mumbles. I ask again and he continues to run my card and mumbles it again. I finnally see the receipt and notice it's not the price posted on thier lunch special. I ask why and he said since I didn't specify that I wanted the lunch special it was going to cost $2.50 more. Huh???? He was not willing to rectify the situation by refunding me, he says that cheaper meat is used on the special, and there is less food overall. I had come in and ordered the same dish before and it looks like the same amount of food when I paid the lunch special price. He Precedes to say "well it's already made now" so he can't do anything about it now. Which made me even more angry. I told them that I wanted the lunch special size and price. It looked and seemed like he was being shady in addition to poor customer service and he thought he could get over on me. After being persistant he refunded the money and I'll be sure to verify that it was refunded at my bank. I will never come back to patronize this...

Ive lived by this place for 12 years and I always see it empty. They've changed the names twice and have closed plenty of times just to reopen again. Homeless people live behind the store. I still have it a shot with my coworkers one day and man that was the worst mistake ever. Food was bland, the place was dirty. Then I realized why it was always empty and never had a line. If y'all want a good Chinese place, check out Formosa express, on Jim Miller, literally up the street fr this place, basically going towards skyline it will be on your right hand side. First time to try this establishment out. Got at drive thru 🚗 about 6:15 - 6:20 pm. Ordered 3 dinners, 2 soups and 2 egg rolls. Got food at 6:35 pm. Hot and smelled delicious. Got Fried Rice & Shrimp, Honey Sesame Chicken & Fried Rice, Sweet & Sour Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Won Ton Soup, Won Dump Soup and Egg Rolls. I was very impressed. The shrimp were devained and so good the fried rice awesome. I tasted the other dinners EVERYTHING was tender fresh and hot. Egg roles are spectacular.
