I wanted to support a small business today instead of hitting the grocery store, and try something new with my son. I had heard good things about Dreamies Creamery and was excited to check it out. My fiancée has dietary restrictions and can't have dairy, so before making the 10-mile drive, I called three times and left a voicemail to ask if they had any dairy-free options. Since it was a nice, sunny Saturday, I assumed they might be too busy to answer.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I decided to head over anyway. When we arrived, I was surprised to find the shop completely empty, aside from the employee working behind the counter. Even more surprising was that she was on her cell phone, only putting it away when we walked in. Clearly, she had access to the phone, yet my calls were never returned.
I asked if they had any dairy-free options—unfortunately, they don’t. While that in itself wasn’t an issue, the lack of customer service was disappointing. A business that relies on customer interaction should at least acknowledge calls during business hours, especially when there are no customers in the store.
Ultimately, we left and went to The Painted Pony in Independence instead, where the customer service was excellent, and they did offer a dairy-free option. Dreamies Creamery seems like a nice place, and I hope they improve their customer service...
Read moreThis place is always amazing! They are affordable, use sheep's milk in their icecream so its safer for those with lactose intolerance or cows milk dairy allergy, many gluten free (idk if celiac safe), dye free, and more! The staff are always very friendly and let you try as many flavors as you want. They also switch flavors throughout the year and use local whole ingredients. The sheep's milk is local to Dallas as well! This place is very clean and always smells good. This place is wheelchair friendly with accessible entrance and low pay counters. They are autism friendly as well. I've never had an issue with my autistic kiddos here. They have many tables to sit and enjoy your treats. They also have merchandise available as well as ice cream pints to take home and more! I reccomended this place to anybody as it's the same price or cheaper than places like dairy queen and friendly for many allergies. But I recommend trying even if you dont have allergies! Kids, single, and double is 4, 6, or 8 ounces but they always scoop it way bigger than that! Bang...
Read moreI have to say, their sheep milk ice cream is out of this world! The richness and creaminess of the ice cream is unparalleled and the flavors are simply delicious.
I tried the cookie dough flavor and was blown away by how amazing it tasted. The chunks of cookie dough were perfectly mixed into the ice cream and the mini chocolate chips added a wonderful texture to every bite.
Not only was the ice cream delicious, but the girl who scooped our ice cream was also super friendly. She was knowledgeable about the different flavors and gave us great recommendations.
Overall, I highly recommend Dreamie Creamery to anyone looking for a unique and delicious ice cream experience. Don't miss out on their amazing sheep milk ice cream - it's truly a treat for...
