Though this shop is specially for those who follow Wicca, other pagan and esoteric minded people can find what they need. Speaking as a Hermetic/Platonist/eclectic Pagan, I have always felt welcomed and cared for. I have been coming to this shop for years now and have pretty much always found what I needed to get the job done in my studies. Previous reviews have claimed that the shop felt "cold" in the way of energy and this is just silly. The Salem metaphysical scene has many people who are unfortunately rather envious, biased, and some would like nothing better than to be the only one who practice such disciplines and talk down on anyone else who has success. I'm sure the personal cleansing and tarot readings are fantastic, though I admit I have never had the owner practice such arts on me before since I do this myself. But she has such an honest and accepting energy that I'm sure she is professional as well as comforting. The only recommendations I would have is to expand the library to include more traditional works such as scholarly editions of the Poetic Edda, Loeb collection of Plotiuns, Corpus Hermetica, Nag Hammadi, etc. As well as expand the fashion and music selection; however these are more geared towards my tastes and her business is more directed towards the general Salem audience which, of course, makes since. Let me start off by saying this first, this store is a true spirituality store. Carma is the owner, she is a wonderful lady with wonderful insight, and is a true spiritual teacher! She taught me so much when I visited, and I considered my self pretty knowledgable in the metaphysical realm. Some other reviewers have left her bad ratings because she seemed rude...well I can tell you right now, if she seemed rude to you, you were most likely being disrespectful and rude yourself. She didn't just give me a bunch of suggestions on crystals, she actually took all the ones I was interested in, lined them up, and let me feel the energy of each one, so the stone could choose me. I’ve worked with Carma for the last 6 years. She is the real deal. Her intuitive predictions have always been 100% accurate for me even though they didn’t seem like it initially.
