Very nice park. Good for walking the dog. Good for taking the children down there and playing. Had some old equipment but still fun. They took out the old mary-go-round which I feel was probably for the best. Since you know everybody I grew up with either. Broke the collarbone on it. An arm or her leg so it was definitely a good idea. They took that out but the arboretum is beautiful, especially in the spring and in the fall during the summer. There's definitely a lot of little spots on the creek shore that are easily accessible for swimming that are just taking a dunk, but I've been around this park for the last 15 years and love it. I love the way it goes all the way to the back of the arboretum or you can see the concrete logs. It used to be logs that were just damned up but the city ended up pouring concrete over them and creating like these little fish ladders which I find is cool and during the summer it creates a good pocket of water you know to to swim in anyways lovely park. Definitely have to take a chance if you live close to Dallas or in Dallas. Definitely take a chance to come and walk through it, especially during the changing of the seasons. Also a mushrooms that are found in the arboretum are mainly poisonous but some are edible and they grow big. Thank you for letting me make this post and I hope you guys enjoy your time or walk...

Read moreCame here to attend a 'reveal party' in the old gazebo at Dallas City Park. Had never been here before. There is a neat fireplace there, that was putting out a lot of heat for party guests,I am assuming this did does not blaze 24/7, but is lit by whoever books the gazebo for festivities. You are allowed to decorate, I assume you are required to take all decorations down after the festivity is over. There were tables and chairs that you can place at your preference. In non covid times you could probably fit 40 to 50 people in the gazebo, more of you set up outside the footprint of the gazebo. It was a January afternoon, cool and Dano. No pathway from parking to the gazebo, it is a park after all. Shoes were nice and muddy.. as a gimp it was a little challenging moving from parking area to the gazebo pushing a walker over the soft ground, so if you are a gimp make sure you have a strong helper with you to help lift the walker, or to support you over the bad areas. It week be worth it. The park is pretty, trees, and has a lot of run and play area for children and adults alike. There is some play equipment nearby, seesaw and...
