I was going to leave a more detailed review. But what's the point? All I can say is after receiving the revised portion size for to go orders, yet paying the same full price for HALF the food, you won't see me in there again. And, funny thing, I was wondering why they insisted I pay over the phone this time when they never have before... Now I know why, they know people won't like what they get. I used to get to go from there every weekend both days, not now. The first part of this review was written before I actually bit into my food. After taking a couple bites I noticed they gave me unsafe, undercooked, hamburger.

This place was amazing! It definitely was our favorite restaurant during our journey out to the coast. The locals recommended this place and they were right! Barb was our waitress and she was extremely friendly and efficient. She constantly checked on us without seeming pushy. The food was very good! Burgers and the omelets were great. The loaded hash browns were very yummy as well! If you haven't has this place and you like great food, you need to stop here!

Overall service was fantastic, and the food tasted pretty good. My biggest complaint is that for 26 dollars I would expect a ribeye to not have nearly as much fat on it as it did. That being said, I just worked around the fat and the meat tasted fantastic and perfectly cooked the way I asked it to be. Just a little expensive for a ribeye when the filet mignon is almost the same price. Ribeye was also a lot thinner than I’d expect for the price.

It could be that I'm looking at this place from an "over the years" perspective, buuuut still... It's not my first pick. I still remember when they switched from real ice cream in their milkshakes to this weird stuff they'd blend together with ice. Yummy.

It had been awhile since we'd gone for burger night. So, we decided to give it another try. Remember when their burger night was "buy one, get one for $2"? Then it turned into, "buy one, get one half off"... These days it's"buy one and drinks, get one half off".... What a steal! 🤦‍♀️

The bloody Mary was alright. Had a sort of mechanical taste, but it was nicely spicey. The cook did manage to cook a frozen patty medium-rare, for which I'm actually kind of amazed. The bacon was also perfectly crisp. So, nice job to him! Buuuut the probably frozen burger bun was stiff and flat. The tots and ranch were good, but why is that the highlight of the meal?

I dunno. Once again, Washington Street is a staple here in Dallas. It's been around forever and they used to be so good, but it's not somewhere I'd pick for dinner or drinks on the regular. I wish they tried more. It didn't used to be this way, but I'd pick North Dallas...

1/13/22 The 3 stars are for the few minutes of Jodi's cheerful sas' and the part of the Biscuit that I enjoyed while waiting for the waitress and cook to correct my breakfast this morning. When ordering I asked the super slow waitress for eggs with the whites cooked but yolks runny, she said over medium. I responded okay as long as the yolks aren't overcooked. It took forever and it wasn't busy. The waitress finally brings our food and my eggs are like those gummy candy eggs so she takes them back and by the time she returns with the new eggs my food is cold and I'm over the whole experience. Besides as soon as I removed the 1st set of jelly eggs from the top of corned beef hash it looked disgusting! No wonder it didn't taste good. What a mess, part was burnt, part looks like mashed up leftovers that was just dumped on my plate. The waitress was moving at a very slow speed, we gave up on waiting for a bag. By the way instead of visiting and goofing off in the kitchen you might want to wait your tables. Might want to get this one some help with the day shift. Not one of the best days to visit Washington...

It's a decent place to eat. Waitresses are really nice, cook is super cool. Food is good, prices are a little high but I think that reflects the economy more than anything. I eat there on Fridays with my shooting team. We tip well and act super nice to the staff. Just because I don't like the music doesn't make it bad, I just hate country music. You can go alone or bring the whole family just remember that it's mostly regulars and everyone has feelings and a right to respect for the job they do. There is a bar attached which I am legally prevented from entering, due to being a horrible violent drunk with a penchant for chaos and misadvenrure (ten years sober, no midnight visits from the police) so I have never been in the bar side but in sure it's very nice for normal people. As a side note one of my shooting buddies is a veteran with very bad knees and there is only one handicap spot, so if that's important you can drop off the mobility challenged right at the door and park elsewhere. In the end it's a decent place in a small town and you will be remembered for your kindness or assholery....
