Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Dallas

Before I tell you why I rated this I must give you back story as to why I went to this Golden Corral.

Background: There was the strange and oddities convention in Dallas, my sister as a loved fan of these decided to go to this, I on the other hand went because I was gonna finally meeting my best friend of 8 years ofc I went with.

The dinner: So I obviously went with and on the night before the meet up we sit down at this table with a father starring down at me. Some of the food straight up looked inedible and the textures of some things..? Horrid.. literally Horrible. Then the worst of all. . . I went to the pot roast, which little of my knowledge knew that would be the cause of my future hell. When I sat down is those unco sets and took a bite of the pot roast i thought in my head "hmm this taste kinda strange" but I thought i scraped it under a rug like it was nothing and ate it. I soon later in the meal felt like I was going to either violently shit myself or violently vomit idk what was worse. We soon went to the hotel and everything was fine until the next day.

The meet up: The day my friend gets there everything is fine we play a few games on Xbox then decided to go to the science museum 10-15 minutes away and it was fine until 7 minutes into the trip I get this nauseous feeling. My mouth fills with saliva and that gut feeling you get when YOU KNOW you're going to throw up i make the joke I'm gonna throw up to which follow after "I'm actually gonna throw up."

"Do you need me to pull over?"

"Nahh..." 5 seconds later "yea.."

And I mean the second the car stops in thay parking lot it was like hell unleashed itself onto that concrete. And it was half my dinner from last night only half guys. There's more. So I bet up and fight through because I will NOT let this ruin me meeting my pookie 👊😔 (in retrospect I should've gone back) So we get to the museum and 30 minutes it i get the feeling again, i sit down in hopes catching some air will clame me only to violently throw up into the plam of my hand while my friend panics on what to do, grabs a bag then a employee. The employees were nice and helped me but I feel horrible because I mean we SPEED RAN THAT MUSEUM and by the time I got to the end of the museum right infront of those doors, I threw up right in the damn trash can. The entire day I didn't feel like that again it was fine. Until the night time.

Night time: I wake up at 3 am freezing but covered in sweat, then suddenly I get the feeling again. I try to get up but then all hell breaks lose i throw up all over myself, my pillow ruined. My shirt, ruined all I can do is sob violently in the shower that night. The worse part my friend was in the room when it happened 😔😔

So was this Golden Corral good? No- it's horrible and ruined the worst possible day of my life with my best friend who's basically my sibling- it not only gave me but my uncle food poisoning as well when we went there....

DO NOT EAT HERE. I’m going to share our experience without any embellishments. When we walked in, there was nobody in line. The cashier never greeted us. Simply asked if we wanted drinks. Told us the price and gave us the receipt. No thank you. No customer appreciation. I went to get some fish and they did not have any. That is a main staple and they didn’t have any???? There were very few customers there!!! I went to the grill to request ham and there were no employees around. I waited for about a minute and left and got other food and then came back. There were still no employees around. Another man standing there spoke up trying to get help. But nobody came. Two employees finally showed themselves and looked at us and then turned around and did not help. One made eye contact with me and turned away. The man finally walked away. I walked over to the side and spoke up and asked for assistance. One lady made eye contact as she was eating a roll. She put it in her mouth and put some gloves on and came over to assist. She never said one word. She simply cut a big slice of ham and put it on my plate and turned around and walked off. Absolutely no customer service or appreciation at all. The plates were never removed from our table the entire time we were there. The plates on three other tables around us were never cleaned the entire time that we were there. They had very few customers there at that time, so I really don’t know what the employees were doing. I spoke to the manager and relayed everything that we had experienced and what a disappointment it was. I expressed that it was very doubtful that we would ever return to this golden corral again. She was pleasant and apologetic. She informed me that there was fish available. (Apparently she expected fish to always be available for the customers.) I informed her I had already looked three times and there was none. Then she came back and told me the fish would be available in five minutes. This is a Buffet and they should never run out of the main staple that people eat. Also, the flavor of the food was not the quality of what we have experienced at the Golden Corral that we normally go to in Grand Prairie on interstate 20. Also, the employees are very nice and I always leave them a tip. Of course I did not leave a tip here. Really, about the only thing that I can say about the food is that it filled us up. What a shame! Our son and his wife told us about a year ago that they would never go to this Golden Corral again because of their poor experience with employees there. Now I certainly understand why. I usually like going to Golden corral. There are things that you can find to dislike, but the ones that I usually go to are clean and the food is relatively good for a decent price. Additionally, I'm trying to change my eating habits so it allows me a variety to pick and choose from. However, this location is the worst one I have ever gone to. There were flies in the salad bar landing on the vegetables and because there was no person to man the station they grouped there. I will say that when I brought it to someone's attention and suggested that perhaps they cover the items someone did go to that section to try and address the situation. The food for whatever the reason was not up to the standard that I have become accustomed to when patronizing other Golden Corral locations. The bourbon chicken is something that I usually always get but when I tasted it at this location it tasted old. They should probably replace the glasses because the ones being used looked dirty although I suspect that it may have been that they were just old. It seemed that most of the workers did not speak English so when asking questions I had to wait until someone was found that could communicate with me. But the workers for the most part were friendly and helpful, except for the guy that was responsible for our section. He brought our drinks to the table but after that we saw very little of him. Oh another thing about the food... I can remember when the rolls was a reason to go to Golden Coral however while the ones served at this location were very pretty, they tasted like dried cardboard. Items on the salad bar appeared to have been frozen and did not appear fresh, and the crab salad was dry. The parking lot desperately needs to be repaired - where you pull off of Cockrell Hill road into the parking lot there are big holes and the pavement is terribly broken up. The feeling that I have is that Golden corral needs to send in someone to train. I did read the reviews before going and saw that almost all were negative but decided to give it a try anyway since I was with someone who wanted to go to a buffet and I didn't know of another that was close by. Although when the reviews are the majority bad I almost always make sure to stay away from those places... A practice that I'm so sorry that I did not adhere to on this occasion. For a fact I will not eat at this...
