I felt it was a little overpriced. Thought the was was good. I had the Funky Burger and queso/chips with a side of burnt bacon ends. My bestie had the Pitmaster and fries (homemade cut fresh).
So when you get there, it looks nice. The staff were awesome, and the young lady who waited on us was so sweet. She went out of her way to answer questions(since this was our first time). Said she could change some items like instead of the jalapeño bread to regular bread. Everyone was busy and smiling, plus super friendly, which is awesome to see nowadays. She even made suggestions very helpful.
They gave us our cups and a buzzer thing for when our food was ready. You service yourself with your drinks (which personally I like). And you have your condiments on the side. I did notice a loaf of bread in its bag just sitting there. I found it quite odd. Until I was looking around while we waited for our buzzer to go off. I noticed a gentleman with just a slab of meat. And went to the bread and got out his bread. So, I guess you make your own unless you are ordering a specific sandwich. That was definitely different.
After our buzzer went off my bestie went and got our trays. The food looked great 👍🏼. We usually try ourselves forat then offer each other a taste specially when it a new place.
So we both tried our queso and chips, best I've had. Chips fresh, and the queso wasn't too gredy or spicy. In the perfect pocket. And the burnt bacon ends. Melt in your mouth! We tried them with nothing great favorite melts. Then we tried it with a little queso wow!! Wow! Delicious. Then we tried with their in-house made BBQ sauce, home run there too. You get the tang, and the sweet with a small kickback of spice in the back of your throat is the best way to describe their in-house BBQ sauce. I wish I had gotten a brownie I saw for dessert. But, I was so full when I left I just didn't.
If you are visiting the DFW Area or have a layover at Love Field Airport or live in the DFW area, you need to check this place out.

Read moreMy crew got food from here. We got the Heim burger, loaded mac with brisket, banana pudding, pulled pork sandwich, Hell Burger, and green chili mac and cheese. Burgers were phenomenal. Perfectly cooked. Buns were delightful. Seared but super soft. Bacon jam was a welcome extra to the otherwise burger. BBQ sauce went well on the hell burger. Pulled pork sandwich was delicious and filling. Banana pudding was amazing. No overpowering artificial banana flavor lovely presentation in a clear cup.
The mac and cheese was utterly disappointing and if I was in the kitchen and my chef found out I was putting that product out I would have been heavily reprimanded. There is no sauce on those noodles. Just the barest smear of a very bland white sauce. I could not even tell if the sauce had any flavor because there was so little of it on the noodles. The noodles weren't even salted so there was no flavor whatsoever in this dish. If these are going on a steam table there needs to be extra sauce put on those noodles for them to soak in. The only thing done right was that the noodles were neither overcooked or undercooked. I hesitate to say cooked just right because of the complete lack of flavor in these noodles.
This shouldn't be an issue that goes unaddressed because making a cheese sauce is not that hard to do. Hell just use box of mac and cheese next time. If that isnt something you can address during a lunch rush then just 86 the item. The mac and cheese may have just been a side order for our meals but it was much looked forward to and really tanked our eating experience because it did not even meet basic standards for...
Read moreMy first time in Texas… so here are my thoughts.
Before traveling to Texas for the first time, I have often heard the legends and stories of “Texas barbecue.” To be quite honest, this background knowledge of TX BBQ gave me really high expectations. Your whole life you hear stories of meat falling off of bones, barbecue sauce that kicks your taste buds into a higher place, and the good times and memories of eating BBQ in Texas. How could you not set the bar extremely high as far as expectations.
Leading up to my experience, I was nervous. Even anxious. I wanted so badly for this meal to live up to its hype. I was sick to my stomach thinking that I could potentially travel back to my home state, and not be able to tell everyone that I would go to the frontlines of the Alamo to enjoy it again.
Do you ever wonder when traveling somewhere that is known for something, that you might not have gotten the real experience. For example, if I went to Egypt and sat on a rowdy camel, with a rude travel instructor… does that mean the pyramids suck? Are they overrated? Or could a better tour guide have given me the full Pyramid/Egypt experience? These things matter before coming to a Conclusion. We LIVE for the full effect.
If you’re wondering if BBQ Heim can give you this FULL TX BBQ experience, it can. And as I ate into their brisket, it did.
After only a few bites, I knew I had my Texas barbecue story.
And I would fight both day and night at the Alamo to stand on that opinion.
Thank...
