Worst LJS I've had the misfortune to go to. Let's start with the counter person. No greeting when he finished with the previous customer. He had no clue where the fish meals were on the register keys, and no idea that you get a choice of two sides with the 2 piece meal. He forgot to give us a drink cup until after we had already helped ourselves to one and had filled it.
We chose a table and sat down. The table was dirty. Not just in the sense of having crumbs on it, but sticky to the touch. So were the chairs when we moved them. We managed to find the least grimy table and seated ourselves again. Later on, we saw why the tables were so nasty. An employee sent out by the manager to "clean the dining room" picked up a couple of cups and shoved chairs back into place. Didn't even give the tables a half-hearted swipe with a cleaning rag, because he didn't have one.
Our food arrived. My friend's shrimp was okay, but not great. My fish was pathetic. The fillet was half as thick as the breading. Any thinner and it would have been see-through. The fries were only okay. The cole slaw was good, but then it was KFC's slaw, not the old LJS recipe.
Don't get me wrong - I wasn't expecting a Fine Dining experience from a fast food joint. But the quality was way down from the last time I used their drive-thru. Even the malt vinegar tasted wrong - like watered-down cider vinegar. I've been a fan of LJS fish & chips since high school. (I go back to the era of sailor uniforms on the crew & "don't forget the crumblies!") It's just sad that the chain has been run down like it has. And this location makes me...
Read moreWorst experience last night. When I asked where were the specials that were advertised on TV I was informed that this was a Kentucky Fried Chicken store that just happened to sell some Long John Silvers products and that I should not expect to see the same stuff as anywhere else. They had no idea what Long John Silvers might be offering. We originally planned our visit looking for the same experience we all had when we were younger. It is obvious that the product no longer exists. The store was dirty, food all over tables, trash over flowing and there was only 1 table in the room when we entered. I ordered the food to eat in and was served in a TO - GO Box, The Food was battered with some breading I do not recognize and was over cooked. The Cole slaw was dry, no dipping sauces were offered and the soda machine had no ice and when we walked back to the counter to ask for some, we were told the machine was broken.....the soda came out FLAT. Why were we not offered something from behind the counter? We will never go back... I sure hope someone from corporate finds out about this and cares about their future enough to address the "Needs" of this store because the owner and operator definitely do not. From the other reviews I see , this is nothing new for this location, wish I would have looked them up before...
Read moreI would give it zero stars if it would allow. And before you ask, I did try to call the manager but no one answered the phone AND I tried to complete the feedback form online but when I enter the address it says it can't be found (how convenient). The process of fast food has already gotten ridiculously high but when you pay $46+ for dinner and they are t busy, you expect it to be fresh, hot (especially since I had to pull forward to wait for it) and CORRECT. It was NONE of those! My bf ordered 2 fish...he got 2 chicken. I ordered the 3 fish and added on 2 chicken. I got only 2 fish (but at least I got the chicken, I guess). The hushpuppies on both orders were inedible; I think they were left over from Friday. The fries were stone cold. And if I had t gone inside to make sure they gave me the sauces I wanted, they would have forgotten the sides we ordered (as in he handed me the order and I had to say "uhhh...where are my sides?"). This is a pathetic excuse for a restaurant that needs new management or needs to close! I sure hope they plan to give me a refund. Not that I have a receipt to prove my order...he didn't give me...
