Our party of 9 waited 45 min.+ for our meals to arrive. The meals consisted of a burger w. a small side salad served at "room temp.". Also, ordered was a plate of chicken nachos which was soft & limp upon arrival, and a BBQ pork sandwich. The rest were various salads. All, easy to prepare meals in a matter of minutes for any qualified kitchen staff. Why it took that long is puzzling to say the least. Especially since the restaurant was far from crowded. As we were about finished, my daughter's dried out tater-tots arrived. We might be more understanding if the delays were caused by a brisk business that night however, when most of the tables were empty, it makes the customers wonder what kind of manager is running the place.
Besides the delay in getting our dinners, what really irritated us was the vast area our overworked waitress was responsable for serving. It appeared to us that someone failed their responsibility of properly scheduling. It wasn't the number of tables our server was responsable for as much as it was the vast area she covered. Half the restaurant, from one end to the other, by herself. She never complained but, it was obvious she was exhausted from the constant rapid treck to please her customers. She was wonderful. One of the best servers we have had in months, even though her employeer ran her in the ground with the area she was forced to cover.
Our suggestion is keep a closer watch on the kitchen staff. If they ran at the pace our server did our food would have been on time. We also suggest that you make our server the mgr. That would be a step in the right direction.
Had our tasty meals been served on time, hot and with cold tossed salads, the experience would have been so much better. And, I wouldn't be nearly this critical. We'll try them again at a later date to see if they've improved. I'll then file another update...
Read moreNorth Dallas food has suffered with the changes of management and chefs over the years. The current management, as of 5/20/15 has a pretty good menu and runs it well, though their prices are a bit high, so I half agree with the person who said fast food at Quality food prices, though that's an exaggeration.
One of the best things about North Dallas used to be the cheese fries. The new owners added chili to it and made it a specialty, which I think is just awful, so I ask for cheese fries and turn a deaf ear when they try to convince to try chili. Their cheese fries really come with bacon bits and extra salt and really are something special. They serve them with ranch dressing, which really goes good with them. I ask for the bacon on the side, because they lay it on thick.
One of my favorite foods in Dallas is their appetizer called chicken tenders. It's fantastic. Get a large order. You can choose to have them cooked in a variety of sauces, take it from me, choose the Barbeque, and ask for a little extra on the side, because they never put quite enough on. Also, ask for a side of blue cheese dressing to dip them in. Trust me, it's awesome. If you can't stand blue cheese, then substitute ranch. That and cheese fries makes for a good dinner for my wife and I and costs around ten or twelve dollars.
I like all of their specialty salads pretty well too. They also cook a pretty fair steak, but I'm a real steak snob, since my dad was a butcher and cooked the best steak in the world, better than...
Read moreWe were looking forward to having an experience that was better than the one we had three years ago when we moved to town. We were sorely disappointed. The food was expensive and extremely low quality. It was apparent that most of it came out of a freezer bag and into the fryer. The crispy chicken salad consisted of ice berg lettuce and shredded carrots and purple cabbage like the bagged salads at the grocery store. The chicken was like pop corn chicken from kfc, except it cost $12. I ordered the special which was described as a burger with mushrooms and chedder. I wasn't told that the meat was mixed with garlic filled sausage and covered with garlic sauce. I spent the night in agony with stomach cramps. Even the kids complained about the food and left their meals unfinished. The service was terrible. We watched the tables around us being serviced every few minutes while we waited ten minutes between one persons food and mine. Our server was mostly absent and seemed annoyed that she had to come out to serve us. In the end I spoke to manager who, rather than listening, gave me a string of excuses. Some of the food was taken off the bill, which was still outrageously high. I would be happy to pay such high prices if the food was worth it. This was luxury food prices for fast food quality. Too bad as there just aren't that many choices in town. You had the opportunity to bring something great to town, but you blew it. We will not be taking the chance...
