The food is prepared the way I learned to do it in southern Texas. Their chile rellenos are some of the best that I've eaten in decades - anywhere on the west coast. While I don't remember the name of the region of Mexico that prepares them that way, I know that it's authentic. Green chillies are grilled until they start caramelizing, then they are put into scrambled eggs that are cooking omelette style with cheese & enchilada sauce. When folded up more enchilada sauce & cheese is put on top. The combination plate comes with two of these, delicious refried beans and some of the lightest & fluffiest Spanish rice that I've ever eaten. The freshly cooked tortillas were served first; complete with refried beans, Pico de Gallo and fresh salsa. On each visit they have always been accommodating of my disability, with excellent handicap access in the area that I was seated. The atmosphere was very festive (& not just the decorations - which very tastefully add to the ambiance). It seemed to adapt to the needs of each customer. Romantic for some, family birthday party, or just a relaxing place to grab a meal with an old friend - as fit my needs. I would say that the prices are moderate, yet a good value for the amount of food that you receive. The only negative would be how small the reception area is. Although this is the logical need for Miramar's customers since it allows for more seating. Miramar has been on of the best things I've discovered since moving to Dallas. And I wouldn't have found it if it weren't for my good friends taking me there. Thanks Colby and Jen. Y'all have blessed me again. Bendiciones de Dios para ustedes, mis...
Read moreMy boyfriend raved about this place. We have gone there three times since we've been dating. First time was ok and it was lunch time. The second time was also lunch and my food was ok, but he ordered the loaded nachos and got a bunch of slop on a few chips on a small plate....neither he nor I have seen such a sorry plate of nachos. He tried to point it out to the waitress who just shined him on. The third (and LAST) was last Friday for dinner. It was busy, but not busy enough to warrant such terrible service. We got seated in a booth crammed up against a wall. My boyfriend tried to mention a move to another table to the owner as the owner passed by....the owner shined him on saying something about being too busy! My boyfriend has been going to this restaurant for YEARS with his late wife and thought the owner was a nice guy. The look on my boyfriend's face was enough to make me feel so disappointed with this place. To top it off, the service was slow....even asking for drinks or extra napkins. The food was so so....again the slop on a plate.. We felt rushed to eat and get out, like hogs being fed from a trough. It was not a pleasant experience. We decided to never go back. Giving 2 stars because we...
Read moreThe best service we’ve ever received! Before I could fully sit in my seat, they were placing the table with chips, salsa, beans and water. They got right to asking what we’d like to drink at the same time. Just a few minutes later, our order was taken. When the food was ready our waitress, Sonia, let us know before bringing the food out! I have to say, just that alone had to be the best part. We were able to make room on our table before the food came out. Sonia was very outgoing and easy to communicate with, she gave us such a great experience! The food was great, we decided that the rice was our favorite. Usually, it tends to be too salty or bland, but we did not have that experience here. Best Mexican food we’ve had! Thank you so much Sonia for the great service and we will...
