It amazes me that this store is still in business!! I was picking up an order to deliver as a food service driver for one of the major delivery apps. It was 7:45 PM when I pulled in and tried to go in the lobby, but the door was locked. The door shows the lobby is open until 10pm, so i knocked on the door. Two employees saw me, I held up my delivery bag so they knew I was picking up an order (most restaurants will still give delivery drivers orders even after the lobby is closed). The. first employee ignored me,the 2nd motioned for me to go thru the drive in. There drive in line was LONG and moving very SLOW. Drivers aren’t paid to wait, so the longer it takes is just money we are losing! It took 20:minutes for me just to reach the menu board where you order over speakers. I asked if they could just hand me order at the door because this order was going to be so late otherwise. They said they hadn’t even started cooking it yet. Another 25 minutes to reach the window to pickup food, and I sat there for 10 minutes while they cooked the food. I guess they don’t understand the concept of sending an order in ahead, so it’s ready once we arrive. I asked why the lobby was closed, then girl working the window said because they cleaned it, and didn’t want people making a mess!! So, a restaurant that doesn’t want customers to eat in their dining room because they would have to clean it? That’s insane! Staff very rude also, always rude. And they have at least 5 people back there working, so it’s not like they were just short staffed for the night… they are always slow at night. A lot of jokes and flirting with their coworkers seemed to be all they were doing. They certainly weren’t doing any real work! By the way, I also tried calling the restaurant 4-5 times while waiting in line, and again the next day. No one ever seems to answer the phone there!
No customer service skills, treat customers like “we” are the problem, zero respect for the whole food delivery industry, which is a significant part of their orders!!
If you are ordering to have food delivered…. PLEASE ORDER FROM ANYWHERE ELSE, or at least tip your driver $20, or more, because that is how much he will lose while sitting in line waiting for your order!! This place is getting a bad reputation with drivers, many of us won’t accept orders from here, so you might have to wait longer and longer until a driver stupid enough to accept the...
Read moreWe don't live in Dallas, buy my daughter just moved there a month ago. This is her first Thanksgiving away from home and she doesn't know anyone well enough to be invited for dinner, so we planned a virtual Thanksgiving. I preordered a Churkey Dinner via UberEats around 9:30 AM CT for delivery between 5:30P-6:00 PM CT from this location (10 min commute via Google Maps).
Popeyes is one of my daughter's favorites and this would give her some left overs and we chuckled about the Churkey spin on Thanksgiving dinner. Mashed potatoes and gravy is a must for Thanksgiving dinner, and I also ordered dirty rice so she'd have something the next day.
At 4:29 PM CT I received an UberEats message that "Your order from Popeyes (4700 Ross Ave) will be here between 5:30 - 6:00 PM. We'll alert you when it's on the way."
At 5:00 PM CT (30 min from delivery time), I received a message from UberEats, "Sorry, Popeyes (4700 Ross Ave) didn't accept your order. Want to try another restaurant?" Well, that option was a bit too late! Nothing was available!!! I tried other Popeyes and all were closed in the area and I could not find another restaurant to delivery on such late notice. Grocery stores were closed, so she couldn’t run out and get something.
Thanksgiving was nothing but tears and heartbreak. She didn't prepare anything to eat expecting the delivery from Popeyes. We canceled our virtual Thanksgiving dinner. She didn't want to see everyone enjoying a homecooked meal while she had nothing but a yogurt. Her grandparents were pretty upset to not be able to see her.
I can't understand how HOURS went by without any notification the order would not/could not be honored. We had no opportunity to find another option or maybe change the time to an earlier delivery time. If Popeyes is promoting a "Thanksgiving" dinner alternative, why would they not be prepared for this type of dinner order?
Her last two texts to me were: • This will be my first Thanksgiving without mashed potatoes and gravy . . . the main event. • Makes me not wanna get Popeyes for a while.
Shame on you, Popeyes! This has been a hard year for everyone and this...
Read moreAs someone who genuinely enjoys Popeyes and appreciates a good deal (shoutout to T-Mobile Tuesdays), I feel it is my civic duty to caution anyone considering this particular location. I’ve only lived in Dallas for six months, but after three visits to this establishment, I can confidently say never again. And I do mean never.
Let’s start with the service. It is consistently dreadful. I don’t walk in expecting five star hospitality, but I do expect basic decency and maybe an ounce of competence. Unfortunately, what I encounter instead is rudeness, hostility, and a level of disengagement that is honestly impressive in its own right. The staff here are… let’s just say spectacularly unbothered. If you’re looking for a place where you can feel disrespected before you even place your order, congratulations, you’ve found it.
The food? Equally bleak. Orders are rarely correct whether placed in person, through the drive-thru, or online. You’d think with three tries, something would go right by accident. But no, consistency is key here. (consistently wrong, that is.) The portions are embarrassingly small; ordering a regular combo feels like receiving a child’s lunchbox. You might genuinely question whether you were given someone’s kids’ meal by mistake.
I kept giving this place a chance because it’s close to my home and, again, those T-Mobile deals can be tempting. But at some point, convenience should not come at the cost of dignity. I leave this Popeyes each time not just hungry, but reflective (pondering why I knowingly returned to a place that never fails to disappoint) Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me three times? Well, I should’ve read more reviews.
Out of the many Popeyes in Texas, and Texas has many cities, this one comfortably ranks in my bottom 10. Honestly, it might be bottom 3. Maybe even number 1.
If you enjoy cold fries, missing items, unseasoned attitudes, and the thrill of wondering just how bad things can get, by all means, give it a try.
For everyone else: save your money, your time, and...
