I was beyond delighted when I saw that there was a place that made tacos open until 4am. I placed an order online, paid, & was given a pickup window of 10 minutes later.
55 minutes later, I pull up to... 4 businesses side by side, and none of them prominently feature the name of the taco business. It was 3am. Parking was full. I parked on the side of the building. Uneasy with the setup, I braved my walk inside knowing I wouldn't be there for long. Boy was I wrong!
5 to 7 people waiting for food. One person left. One person's order was wrong upon the hand off. I wasn't helped upon entering. I waited for 4 minutes before asking outright if I could pickup an order. The person at the front barely acknowledged me. Barely said a word. Placed food in front of me as if it were mine. But it was pizza instead.
When I remarked that I didn't order pizza, I learned that my order wasn't ready. In fact, they didn't even know it was in the docket.
I told the person at the front what it was that I'd already ordered and paid for. They found it and told me "5 minutes". After waiting for 10 minutes, I asked for a realistic time of preparation. The person said they'd check. Hurried cooks glancing nervously through the window at the growing crowd for food. The person who helped me frantically assembled my order in a bag. And 5 minutes later I was given my food.
I appreciated that it was cooked fresh. I didn't appreciate the etiquette. Acknowledgment and transparency will buy you patience from hungry customers.
I was uneasy about the neighborhood. The parking. The hour. The congestion of people waiting. The lack of preparedness.
The food was oversalted and under seasoned. My street tacos looked like they'd been prepared by a home cook.
Perhaps this place is better suited for...
Read moreWell my review & experience started on 05/12/22, My & I wanted some pizza so we walked across the street boarding laughing & talking. After a great experience with the Lemon Pepper Chicken pizza. Went there for lunch as I stated last night with someone & the experience was all wrong. I was met at the door with 2 children running around playing, only to come to the counter to order & a lady is holding a baby. After ordering my burger, it's wasn't correct after seeing there was mayo on my burger when that was the first thing that I stated to remove. After coming back to get my burger 🍔 they way I wanted it I then find out from the lady holding the baby that they now have mustard as she stated before that "they don't have mustard here" Upon leaving there was kids still running around. I do feel like this place has good food, they have some thing to work out before I come back. I will give them a few month or so or maybe 6 lol so they can redeem my experience. Sorry I know times may be hard, but this is a Business. Seeing all the kids running around after getting through a Pandemic at a restaurant is just not a good & healthy look. 🤷🏾♂️ I will give them another shot again to gain a...
Read moreIt's pretty amazing and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a late night place to eat around Greenville Ave thats not going to break the bank. Sure, the place itself isn't much to look at and it is easy to miss as the signage up front advertises pizza, but the food is top notch. Their menu is diverse, offering Mexican, Chinese, and Pizza.
My group got tacos, a veggie burrito, chicken fried rice, and churros. The veggie burrito I had is one of the best I've ever had. I was extremely impressed, as was everyone in my group with their order. Their homemade green sauce is very good as well.
I can't speak for the pizza, but of the many people coming in and ordering at 1am, quite a few seemed to be getting the pizza so it must be good. And yes, the place was getting pretty heavy traffic at 1am.
Be aware, this is counter service and seating is very limited. Seems as though take out is their main focus. I'm glad that Waffle House was closed for sit down and we went here instead....
