We had a fantastic experience at Urbano for Valentine's Day. The food was great, and our server Johnny was amazing. Very affable and helpful.
Here's what we got: App: Cioppino: Fantastique! Entrees: Lobster risotto: undeniable best lobster risotto I've had in my life! The risotto was cooked perfectly and paired exceptionally well with the lobster. There was even a citrusy taste to the meal that was simply chef's kiss. At the time of the review, this wasn't part of the regular menu. It was on the Valentine's Day menu. Hopefully this item makes it to their permanent menu as well! DUCK & PEPPERS Agradolce: the duck was prepared well and actually tasted akin to a good piece of steak! Which was interesting because duck usually tastes closer to chicken Sides: GNOCCHI ALLA "MAC & CHEESE": If you don't like really cheesy stuff, I wouldn't recommend. My wife enjoyed this and it was also highly recommended by our server BROCCOLI RABE & GARLIC: meh. Would try something else. Dessert: Tiramisu: Would not recommend. The risotto was the best I'd ever had, but this tiramisu definitely wasn't. The coffee flavor was far too potent. The restaurant was quaint and very much what you'd consider a hidden gem. The atmosphere, along with the risotto and our server made this a splendid experience.
Had it not been for the sides and dessert, this place would undoubtedly...
Read moreWe came for the first time during Restaurant Week and were blown away at how good it was. For starters our group had the raviolis and the gazpacho, both of which were very good. The raviolis were sinfully tasty in a creamy mushroom sauce that was just outstanding. For our mains, each of us had something different: the pecan crusted redfish, the duck, the veal bolognese and the risotto. Each of us were amazed at how well the dishes were executed, perfectly seasoned, nice accompaniments and the portion sizes were great! Plenty to eat without being stuffed!
The service here was outstanding. We interacted with several folks , from our server to food runners to the GM, all of which were at the top of their game. What we really appreciated about it (other than the amazing food) was how the service was so polished and professional but friendly, engaging, and not the least bit pretentious. We loved how the restaurant was small and casual with elevated food and service.
The only request we would have is to have bread served with the meals to soak up all these amazing sauces that were with our dishes.
We all were thrilled with Urbano Cafe and will definitely be back. ...
Read moreUbano Cafe is such a fun and unique spot—it totally gives off speakeasy vibes with almost no signage out front. It’s BYOB, which added to the charm, and we loved the tucked-away, intimate atmosphere. We sat in the far room, which was lively and full of energy, setting the tone for a great night out.
Trish was our server and absolutely fantastic—warm, attentive, and full of excellent recommendations. We started with the bread and butter, which was pretty standard, but things quickly picked up from there.
The Caesar salad was a highlight: generously dressed with a great kick of parmesan—simple but done right. We also had the baked mezzi rigatoni, which was hearty and satisfying. But the real star was the veal scaloppini Marsala—tender, flavorful, and plated beautifully. Total standout.
Unfortunately, the night ended on a low note with the tiramisu. It was a “deconstructed” version that didn’t quite hit the mark for us—definitely a miss in an otherwise strong meal.
All in all, a memorable and fun dining experience with excellent service and a few standout dishes. We’ll definitely be back—just maybe skipping...
