Record Grill in Downtown Dallas has become my go-to spot, and I genuinely can’t say enough good things about it. I’ve been coming here regularly, and not once have I been disappointed. It’s one of those rare gems that you stumble across and instantly know you’ll be back—again and again.
Blanca and the entire staff are what truly make this place special. From the very first time I walked in, they treated me with kindness and warmth, and now, after so many visits, it honestly feels like walking into a second home. Blanca always has a smile and a kind word, and the team works together like a well-oiled machine, making sure every customer feels welcome and cared for. They’ve become like family to me, and that’s not something you find just anywhere.
And the food? Let’s talk about the food. Daily specials that hit the mark every single time—whether it’s the baked chicken, the meatloaf, or any of the other rotating options, you simply can’t go wrong. Everything is made with care, served hot, and seasoned just right. It’s real, honest, home-style cooking at prices that truly can’t be beat. You leave full, satisfied, and already thinking about your next visit.
If you’re in Downtown Dallas and looking for a place that feels like home and delivers consistently great meals, Record Grill is it. Great people, unbeatable value, and food that never misses. I’m proud to be a regular—and if you go once, you probably...
Read moreFantastic diner - real-live lunch counter. This place earns every one of the four stars (I reserve five stars for the very best places I've ever been). We had two orders of onion rings to start (5), my wife had a fish sandwich (5), I had a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and fries (6) and we each had fountain cokes (@2). Folks coming and going on a rainy day about 11:45 pm. Relaxing, clean, homey, not quiet, but not noisy. Attentive service from the three folks running the seven seats and four tables. I enjoyed myself thoroughly! $22.05 altogether for lunch.
Parking is a big challenge on a weekday, but we lucked out: Go into the Houston or Elm entrance to the Dallas County Records/Tax Office building's underground parking - get as low as necessary to park in the back corner (the NE corner) - that elevator lets you out away from the records building in a little structure on the corner of Elm and market - directly across the street from the Record Grill! Parking's pricy: 61+ minutes, $10 - we got out for $7 - well worth it. We'll be back every...
Read moreIf you blink, you’ll miss it. It’s a small place with big flavor. Hole in the wall feel..Entering, I wasn’t impressed, but that changed quickly. It was warm and crowded. But the service was excellent and the drinks were cold. I just ordered a burger, how good can it be right? Dayum!! It was excellent. I had a single patty burger with onions and pickles with a side of fries. Everything was fresh, and fries were crispy and hot. The fries themselves won me over. The BLT was also phenomenal. Fresh and crispy, nothing was wilting and warm. If you are looking for a corporate restaurant with robotic servers skip this place. The is a great little hole it the wall. Everything is made to order and prices are more than fair. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite. It’s nothing fancy, but big on character and great comfort food. I...
