*6:55pm- 7:20pm experience Walking in from outside, the building gives you a "welcome in" vibe. The colors of the store are vibrant and welcoming creating a great atmosphere to this location. Upon entering the door of the establishment I was lost at figuring out where the line had started even tho there was only 3-4 us at the time. I feel like maybe the start and end of the ordering line should be switched with each other thus leading customers into the dining area. As I finally made up my.mind on what I wanted i ordered a churro and chocolate ice cream scoop as well as a funnel cake with strawberries filling on top. 20 min have gone by and it's only my family of 3 and another couple in the store so I go check on my order only to be told it would be worked on right away. Seemed like they lost my ticket?? They asked if I recieved anything at all to which I state "NO". I get my order in about 3 min and my funnel cake looked plain . Just sliced up strawberries. Which was very misleading to me the customer, because I wanted what was depicted in the picture and I got something completely different. I informed the manager about it and she states that the reason i recieved fresh strawberries was because the store is out of the strawberry filling . I informed that this was the first time i heard if this. After 30.min of waiting to sit and eat my items, I finally get told this! 1st communication can solve alot of matters but because nobody was transparent with me I was frustrated and disappointed as well as highly dissatisfied. The Manager states that she can make me something else for the inconvenience, I left it as is and continued dissatisfied out of the store after barely picking at the funnel cake. The manager did good tho in trying to satisfy for the inconvenience. I'll give this place another try in about a month or 2 maybe i will get a better experience. Also this place charges 3% credit card fee if you...
Read moreI will start by saying my elote loyalties still lie with the lady in front of El Rancho. The true Queen of Elote in my book.
I've had basically a little of everything on this menu this week. The paletas will be why I continue to come, they're hands down really good and the selection is amazing! Mazapan has my heart.❤️
Now the others: Elote - mid, a literal puddle of like mayo/crema water. Plus none of the sauces are good, so you can't even cover the taste. Hot dog - small, good taste, nothing special. Crepes - mid and kind of gummy Quesadilla - I don't hate burnt cheese, but this quesadilla tasted like nothing but burnt cheese. Not sure if it's the type of cheese or maybe this one was just really burnt. Took it home, had someone else taste it. They said, I should have sent it back. 🤦🏻♀️ Maruchan con Elote Chorriado - I didn't eat this, but the person who did really enjoyed it, couldn't finish it of course 😅 be ready it's ALOT of food. Mango Loco - Mango was at the perfect point of not too over ripe and ripe. I've had a Mango Loco at other fruteria/paleta locations and they usually come with a decent assortment of candies in the center. This one only has skwinkles, cacahuates japones, and some little Tamarindo candies. Would order again, just wish it had more candy assortment. Agua de Melon - It's cream based, so not what I'm used to personally. It's indulgent vs refreshing. Since it's cream based, it is very sweet. A water based agua de Melon to me is more refreshing but it's definitely personal preference.
The staff: Phenomenal 10/10 the ladies have had ALOT of patience for us 😬 they always take the time to explain the menu and don't try to rush you out. Which to me personally is the most important thing,...
Read moreThis place is obnoxiously overpriced. One singular paleta is $3.24 with tax. Literally every other place is $1 and some change. Their scoop ice cream stays at a temperature that when they scoop it for you is already melting… so you get a cone with melting ice cream running on the side and the cone turns soggy pretty quickly. They advertise their “dubai” a lot but it too is skyrocket priced for what it is… one churro (singular, not plural) is $4.99 with dubai. Mind blown. I also ordered a mango loco and the mango was so hard when i bit on it i heard the crunch noise. Mangos should be soft. They also do not peel them, they just slice them and leave the peel on which has literally been the first time ever i eat a mango loco with peel. This place is not what the reviews make it seem to be. The only nice thing i can say is that the decoration is on point and it looks...
