On Wednesday, March 23, 2022, my son and I drove thru this Schlozky’s store after a doctor’s appointment`. We both ordered soup. About half way home, my son discovered his soup was not in the bag, nor was a receipt. I turned around and drove all the way back to get the soup and most importantly, my receipt. Upon arriving back, we spoke to the lady who waited on us when we originally ordered. We told her what happened and she was very kind and told us she would take care of it. A few moments later, a very large woman came to the window. She walked upon us with a terrible attitude. She asked me what the problem was. I told her our soup was missing and I did not get a receipt. She was very rude. I got my receipt, then she told me it would be $5.00 for the soup. I told her I was half way home and the gas cost was terrible. I’m disabled and on a very fixed income. She said, “I repeated the order and there was only one soup on there.” I told her I was sorry she didn’t hear the 3 times I ordered it but I still had to come back for the receipt that should be a common practice to give to a customer. While trying to talk to this woman (Samantha was her name), she slammed the window several times. After the last time she was rude, I asked to speak to the manager. She said, “I’m the manager.” I told her that was a scary thought and I would be contacting the corporate office. She said, "I'll be calling them myself” and slammed the window one more time.
It is sad that customer service is at an all-time low, but when the managers treat a customer like she did us, suffice to say the workers won’t care how they treat others either. It’s a shame we pay $5.00 for a $1.25 soup and a receipt that should be a common practice to give to a customer is not given; but, to have to endure a rude, shameful excuse for a manager is unacceptable. We have loved Schlozky’s for years and this has left a sour taste.
Note to owner of that store, you need to get this employee (Samantha) in line. I’m certain she is costing you some black eyes on your store. I did call the corporate office and they didn’t even bother to return my call. I’m truly disappointed in this...
Read moreThe drive lane was so long that I couldn't get into the line without being partially in the street. I decided to park and go in to order....but no car would allow me to cut through the drive up line to get into the parking lot! I drove around the restaurant to park in front but there was no empty parking space and the drive up cars refused to let me cut through to leave. Fortunately, a car started pulling out of a space in the parking lot but a car coming in from the side street wanted to claim it. It was a Handicapped space but they did not have a Handicapped permit. I have had permanent plates for a dozen years so I informed them that I am handicapped and asked them to give up the space. They didn't want to but they did. I suggested that they send a person from their car inside to order and that another space would open. They were pulling into a space as I hobbled inside. They got their food before I got mine but I was alone and couldn't have sent anyone in. It was the worst sandwich I've ever had there! I asked for the Angus sandwich with no onion and extra pickles with mayonnaise. It came with one thinly sliced pink tomato, two pickles stacked on each other, no mayo, and 2" of shredded lettuce. I was going to eat there but chose to leave instead of fight the crowd to go complain. I knew I could fix it at home. I will NEVER go to that location again if there are more than two cars ahead of me in the line...it is always painfully slow at that Gaston Road location. It's usually properly made but...
Read moreI recently had a disappointing experience at Schlotzsky's that I feel needs to be shared. After ordering through the drive-thru, I was given what I thought was a Sprite, only to find out it was just carbonated water. Confused and frustrated, I returned to the drive-thru to clarify the situation.
When I spoke with the manager, Daisy, she informed me that they were out of Sprite. However, when I sent my partner inside to check, the staff revealed that they were actually in the process of changing out the Sprite in the back. This inconsistency in communication was incredibly frustrating. Instead of being straightforward about the situation, Daisy's response left me feeling misled.
It's disappointing when a restaurant doesn't communicate effectively, especially when it comes to something as simple as a beverage. I understand that things can happen, but honesty is key in customer service.
Overall, my experience at Schlotzsky's was marred by poor communication and management. I hope they can improve in these areas, as I would love to enjoy a meal without the added stress of a...
