Manager Miguel is extremely rude my daughter is allergic to Shell fish and asked if her chicken could be cooked in clean grease. Per Miguel direct quote this is a Seafood restaurant and we cook everything in the same grease. We asked that the chicken be cooked in different grease he said NO and if we don't like it, our problem not his. Then his server Tay, say I see you doing a Google review don't put my name because, you're messing with my money and Job. 1st off, I tried several times getting his attention and he ignored me and then when he had his little blow up, I said who name do you see but since you're being rude as well I'm including you. If he was doing his job instead of paying attention to my phone he would've been fine, because initially I was only gonna mention the rude manager. If you don't like serving customer get a different job. This is only my 2nd time at this resturant/location, the 1st time was for my grand daughter birthday 5/26/24 time the server was very very good, thus we came back to celebrate my sister's birthday because she wanted Seafood. I personally don't eat Seafood nor does 1 of my daughters and our 1st time here she had chicken wings and her throat started itching and my niece broke out in hives, thus our reason for asking that the chicken to be cooked in different grease than the fish. The menu states GUEST WITH ALLERGIES ASK FOR A MANAGER BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER. We did that and got Mgr: Miguel with major attitude and rude and when we told him he doesn't have to be rude he continued with his tirade of this is a Seafood restaurant and we cook everything in the same grease period. Well Seafood and Chicken should be cooked in different grease seafood place or not. Sad thing is each time we have came we had a party of 18-20 thus allowing for them to make a decent tip. The 1st time server upcharged 18% tip automatically, this time Tay did a 20% upcharge automatically both times we paid the tip which we don't have a problem with. First of, they have mandatory Valet parking but I went on a Wednesday night and the parking lot was very empty so I told the Valet there was no need for them to park my car that I could park it my self, and he still had the audacity to charge me the $6 dollars for doing absolutely nothing, me and my friend were hungry so we paid him to avoid any problems. We walk in and the place was empty, we ordered our drinks and my friends soda was flat and it tasted more like sewer water than coke and my sweet tea tasted a bit odd. I also ordered crab tater tots as an appetizer bcs I wanted something quick. The waiter had to go back to the kitchen THREE TIMES because the tater tots were literally still frozen from the middle, each time she brought them back they were more burnt from being deep fried over and over. I said F* the tots bring me the calamari, they bring the calamari and its the most depressingly skinny calamari ive seen in my life. There was more Fn breading than calamari. At this point it had already been at least 30 minutes since we had gotten there and we still had to wait another 15- 20 minutes to finally get our crab and shrimp boil! Keep in mind there were no more than 10 people in the restaurant when we got there. The cherry on top was the crab boil being way more salty than it was flavorful, I had to drink a bunch of water when I got home bcs my sodium levels were out the roof. Read moreUPDATE!!! There's new management in town and it's things are looking up! I've been a long time customer with Shell Shack dating back to the McKinney Ave days. I've been to the Dallas, Arlington, Fort Worth, Mesquite, & Plano locations over the years. Over time the quality has fallen off a great deal but yet the prices steadily increase. I've opted to not frequent as much because I don't want a bag of butter with little to no seasonings and flavor, or missing items, or mediocre service. This past Monday, my daughter was out of school and asked to go since we hadn't been in a while. We went. Upon pulling into the parking lot, I saw a gentleman, whom I later found out was the new manager Nigel, running out behind someone who appeared to may have left something. Once we parked and walked in to be seated, we were greeted and seated by Nigel. A few moments later, Nigel came back and took our drink order. When he brought our drinks, I asked if he was the only one working. He explained he was because unfortunately his bartender called in. Despite being the only person out front, his customer service and attentiveness was immaculate. He didn't miss a beat. On top of his service, the food! My goodness I fell in love all over again with Shell Shack! It wasn't a bag full of oil/ butter. I personally like my sauce/Seasoning thick, almost like a mud consistency. It was perfect! It was hot! It was fresh! It was amazing! If Monday's experience is a sign of Nigel's management, I love how things are looking, and I'm certain I'll start back coming around more often again!
