A minor snafu on my order resulted in a totally underwhelming experience. After repeatedly requesting mustard on both toasted hamburger buns, along with extra lettuce and tomatoes(which I paid extra for), my burger came back light on the veggies and mayonnaise on the top bun. After asking the carhop to just bring plain toasted top bun for replacement, she reviewed the receipt and insisted that they just remake it and walked off as I tried to return the mayo burger received.
Later, someone else came on the menu speaker to say they toasted the buns as I requested and then asked if the problem was that they weren't toasted enough. Again, I had to inform them that the toasting was fine, the issue was that I just wanted "mustard" on "both" buns and received mayo instead on the top bun only (bottom bun dry).
Upon her return, the carhop made it known that I couldn't have the remade burger until I gave her the incorrect burger originally received, as if I hadn't tried to return it in the first place. Eventhough the new burger was still light on veggies and had a bit of mustard lightly on the top bun only, again, that was good enough. Didn't want to press my luck by asking for additional mustard to put on myself, which was my original plan if they would have just given me another top bun as previously requested.
The result was an inedible, overly greasy and flavorless mess. It was as if they added extra grease as a topping that drowned out any other flavors.
This was my first time back in a year, after they gave me a BLT with burnt bacon from there drive-thru. I won't be going back. Although I inspected my food, I'm pretty sure they tampered with the second burger. A simple compromise could have resolved the issue and avoided food waste and they still couldn't follow the uncomplicated, very simple directions given, multiple times. Sonic USED to be my place for all things burger. After this, going forward I think I'll be going to...
Read moreSo, my sister placed an online pick up order last night that included a large order of onion rings ($4.39). When we showed up and parked in the mobile pick up section, our order was quickly brought out with no mention of any issues. Before we drove away, my sister checked the bag to confirm they got the order right. She was missing the onion rings and instead they gave her a corn dog ($1.89). We assumed it was a simple mistake, no big deal, and went through the drive thru to explain what happened and ask for the correct item we were missing. This is where I get frustrated. They proceeded to tell us then that they had actually ran out of onion rings, so instead of mentioning that or letting us know at the time of pick up, they gave us a $1.89 corn dog instead without our choice AND STILL CHARGED US FOR THE ORIGINAL ONION RINGS. It wasn’t until we got to the window that they gave us an option on substituting the onion rings for another side of our choosing. It’s just sneaky trying to swap a missing item out for something that costs less than half what we originally paid. No communication in advance on the missing item, they were going to let us drive off disappointed and find out about it when we got home. Not cool or...
Read moreHorrible service and the employees clearly don’t care (except for the one server hustling out to all the cars). First waited at one of the drive-in spots—no one answered the call button. After 10 minutes (since I assumed they were busy), I decided to get in line at the drive-thru behind multiple vehicles. No answered at the drive-thru microphone—apparently they had decided to close it the drive-thru but put so signage to indicate it. At the same time, 3-5 employees kept coming out the back door to smoke or talk together while customers were waiting to be served. I rolled down my window to ask them if anyone was tending the drive-thru and they laughed and said no. As a courtesy to the cars waiting in the drive-thru, I drove back around to let them know the drive thru was closed and also told the employees outside watching the line of cars to put signage. Whoever owns this franchise needs to significantly address staffing and customer service. Rapidly going down hill. I used to stop by often. After today I’m crossing this Sonic off my list. You’ll get better service 2 doors down at the Chik-fil-a and...
