This place will STEAL from you. DO NOT GO HERE. "PETE IS NOT REAL" On 8/15/2018 I went with my coworkers to this place around 3pm. What I consumed was okay, seriously not all of that. Our waitress was an older white lady. Her service wasn't tip worthy but whatever right? I left before everyone else in my party and left a CASH TIP on the table. I then took my receipt and left, later on that night I was checking my withdrawals to see was a bill paid and noticed that my 20.57 payment was 24.57. I knew I didn't pay that much so I found my receipt and noticed that I took the "signed" receipt. I called that night and the woman that picked up the phone was very nice and understanding. She apologized and told me to call the following morning to speak with the manager "Pete" at 10am that Saturday morning. You're probably thinking 4 bucks isn't much right? Well it's called STEALING. I wondered if another receipt was printed and my signature forged and the extra tip added. Anyway I called 8/17/15 (he wasn't there that friday I guess) and some rude man picked up, all I did was ask for the manager and his response "well he's not here" me "oh okay, when will he be in" he said "in a couple of hours" I say okay. Mine you I called at 12:14pm 2 hours after he's supposedly suppose to be in anyway. So I called back a 3:27 same day, and the same rude man answers the phone. I simply say "Yes, may I speak with your manager he sighed and rudely said "he ain't here" I replied I called earlier and was told he'd be in later today, he said "well he went out of town so you need to call back Monday" I said so there is no manager that can help me (mind you he was given NO information) his response, "only he can handle stuff like that. SO CLEARLY he knew I was calling because this old lady STOLE FROM ME. And to be honest I think he was "Pete" So with that being said I've already contacted my bank, and will no longer deal with them. So we will deal with it on the level the offense was taken. IN A CRIMINAL MANNER. ALL MONIES WILL BE RETURNED. I don't care if its his grandmother, or aunt. A THIEF IS A THIEF! WATCH your receipt because they're stealing!!!! Or don't leave with the signed one because that translate to...
Read moreLoved St. Pete’s Dancing Marlin. 1st time dining here. We were attending Deep Ellum Art Co. to see Mike Doughty perform. So my husband said he found a great place for us to have dinner before the show. I went on the website to check out the menu & reviews, everything sounded & looked wonderful! Such an array of food, lots of choices. Well from the moment we walked in, and Travis, the bartender smiling greeting us, told us to sit wherever we wanted. I loved the entire vibe and decor of St.Pete’s. We sat down & in minutes our server was greeting us, Alexis, can’t say enough about her. She was so friendly, engaging, told us we could still get Happy Hour drinks and apps. She suggested wonderful choices. We started with a 1/2 order of the nachos that were wonderful! I was looking at all of the many selections on the menu, & Alexis mentioned to check out the pastas, they are really great. I immediately went to the pasta choices, pick your pasta, sauce & protein to add. Loved that option. I had Angel hair pasta in A La Vicki (Pete’s version of Alfredo sauce) with shrimp. The shrimp were plentiful and big, the sauce was a light Alfredo, not heavy, with wonderful flavor, & large portions, took home leftovers. She told us about the wonderful desserts, especially the sheet cake, that Pete makes himself. We were so full, so had to pass. Alexis was so accommodating, we enjoyed chatting with her, very personable. In our way back from The Art Co. we decided to go back to St.Pete’s for a night cap and some of Pete’s sheet cake topped with ice cream. It did not disappoint! Delicious! Alexis, the other server, both of these ladies were working so hard with a smile and tag teaming to help each other. We talked to Travis on our way out, who was super friendly & assured him we would be back. I can’t say enough about St. Pete’s. Food, service, atmosphere, all were excellent. I highly recommend St.Pete’s! We will be...
Read moreI felt at home the second I walked in. The décor is simple, old school neighborhood bar and dining, very similar to a neighborhood Chicago bar/lounge. Nice long bar on one side of the room and table seating around the rest of the room. One area has a pretty awesome collection of signs, both neon and tin. The other thing I like; just a handful of TVs near the bar area.
A server greeted us at the door and told to sit anywhere we’d like, it was after lunch and not crowded.
Our server took our drink order straightaway, very friendly guy.
The beer list is very worthy, I counted over 45+ bottle beers and at least 10 draft beers. I’m really liking this place already!
I ordered the Fish & Chips and she had the Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich.
The one thing I love is when a restaurant use fresh ingredients.
The Fish & Chips came with a fresh and creamy tartar sauce that was heavenly. The Fish batter was light and crispy, not oily at all. The fish itself was fresh, tender, and flaky. And the fries too were light and tender. The dish was very satisfying and plentiful with four pieces of fish on a plate covered in fries.
The Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich was outsized and full of flavors, especially from the fresh grilled jalapeños, very warm and tasty.
Another bonus for me was that our server bought out the malt vinegar with the Fish & Chip. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but I often have to ask for it at some places that server F&C. And half the time they don’t have any. Hmm, F&C and no malt vinegar. sad face
This was a grand first visit, but it won’t be my last I assure you. The bar alone will lure me back in, but the food is a requirement too. I can see coming back for...
